While I was working on my rear bumper corners, I noticed that my 1/2 axle shim was turned. The ubolts were torqued to 75 foot pounds during the install, but I'm questioning the integrity and accuracy of the torque wrench. As far as it rotating, would it be from reusing the nut and center pin after moving it over from my old truck? I was thinking of doing one of 2 things. Unbolting the ubolts and see if the shim moves (tells me that the center pin is loose) and using loctite and tightening it back down, or buying a new torque wrench and retorquing everything. 20201103_165559.jpg

Try tapping it over & see how easily it moves. I dislike using shims or blocks if I can avoid it for this reason (& adding to axle wrap).

I'll mess with it tomorrow. I didn't have any issues with it on the other truck.

The proper torquing of u-bolts is pretty damn important. Too little & these type things are more prone to happen. Too much & you can bend the axle tubes. If you wheel your truck much, I'd imagine they're torqued correctly, they just walked a bit. The center pin is probably still GTG, it's just the shims spun a bit.
