What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I use to think this little step was the dumbest, cheapest thing offered by Toyota, especially when I saw GMC's integrated tailgate steps but after having this option on my own truck, I find it totally useful and adequate. My only issue with it is when it's retracted, it sits a little crooked / uneven.

 

Yea, toyota seems to be a little behind on other amenities different manufacturers offer. I just notice the step being uneven too but it does its job of letting me getting in the back without doing a running jump!

Installed 4 each, red, Charvonia Designs billet tie-down anchors.

 

You'll be happy with that cerakote. Cleans up the plastics to a nice black and isn't greasy. Supposedly lasts for 200+ washes, i'm only about 15 washes in so far, but still holding up great!

 

that looks sharp man! i think the weight would help with any bed bounce and smooth out your ride a little bit. i agree on removing the lettering. it clashes with the tundra's badges by having different fonts. i personally like them all removed personally. i agree also with the keeping things unique to myself and not have what EVERYONE else around me has/is doing. the tie down anchors look good too man!

lol no prob man. i love when i see vehicles that aren't the common colors (black, white, silver, gray) and especially more when I see the color matched bed covers/caps on them. but yea, the font difference would drive me nuts. kinda like when I see people buy the emblems at the auto parts stores and stick them on and they don't match the oem badges. keep it up bud!

 

Thanks again, I've already fixed it (sorry Leer lol). I was sorta concerned about sun glare but the 700 cover has a raised center with a depression in the middle. So far, no sun glare at all. There is some reduced rear visibility, due to the height of the cover but i am liking it so far.

How did you attach the aux fuse block to the Tundra fuse box?

I just used some 3m double sided tape.

Finally upgraded tires and wheels. 17" Fuel Vectors wrapped in 35x12.50 Mazama Open Range AT's (Toyo AT3's are not available anywhere or any time soon).

Added these rago fabrication recovery board mounts. Works well even with the bedcover.

Got a great deal on a new set of OEM running boards from another member. I know these don’t get much love but I think they look pretty good!

 

Color matched bumper shellz. No more chrome!

 

Used leftover trim paint on the bumper corners until I decide on a bumper.

Looking forward to seeing how that looks. I'd like to do the same, maybe 285 on stock TRD rims, but I'll see how yours looks.

 

Just did mine last week and if you search this forum there's a much easier way to install. It involves cutting out a section of the factory bracket, but after those cuts it took me 10 mins max, and it definitely supports all the weight I need it to!
