you think it will look good? I know the K02’s look good with white letters out. But haven’t seen a tundra with white Goodyear letters out.

times 2 for the ram with the 3.92

I ordered mine with those after test driving a 3.21 and 3.55.

3.92 x 4.71 (first gear in the trans), is the way to go :burnrubber:

How many miles are on your rebel now. And any issues with it besides the recalls... Might switch to a rebel or titan or 3rd gen tundra I have no clue yet..

I don’t have many miles at all yet , no issues at all . I would suggest to join the 5ThGen Ram Forum and ask everyone’s opinion on there . The 2021 Rams have the option of HUD and the Rebels can now be had with the auto 4WD .

A bit late to this thread, but i've been looking at Rams a lot lately. I think Ram has stepped it up recently, however I'm looking at 4th Gen 2500 Cummins, which I think are more reliable.

My reason for the 4th Gen, 2016-2018 is they still have creature comforts (heated/cooled seats) but don't have near as much tech as the 5th gens do. I plan to have my next truck 10 years or so, so reliability is important.

    I came from a 2019 Rebel to a 2021 Tundra.

The Rebel was a crewcab, non e-torque, it had every option except leather and air suspension that were available in 2019, I traded in last month with around 30k miles on it.

    The good:
    - It rode really beautifully smooth on most surfaces.
    - The 12" screen was beautiful to look at and uconnect is easy to use
    - The interior design was really top notch, heated steering wheel that heats up automatically via remote start when its cold out.
    - Lots of storage space
    - Easy to fit big tires, 35x12.5 doesn't require much work.

    The bad:
    - Assembly quality, I found carpet sticking out where it's not suppose to, rear seats were missing bolts, I even found piece of garbage underneath the passenger seat when truck had 12km on it.
    - Silly options, I wanted my truck with big gas tank, was told either take the one I had or wait for 6 months.
    - Poor, I mean piss poor dealer services.
    - The Rebel suspension is NOT that good off road, they sell it as off-road focus but its more of a marketing thing, it is comfy thou.

I liked the truck, but didn't love it, I also had issue with rear shocks leaking, which dealers blame me for it, there was also small issues here and there that drove me nuts, like one touch down window would sometimes stops then go up and down then go the motion where I wanted, my GPS wouldn't load sometimes and requires ignition off to reboot, my keyless entries sometimes is overly sensitive, when touching the door handle it would try to unlock like 4-5 times in a row, I also had issue with folding mirrors that got stuck and refuse to open up, I had to disconnect the battery to let it open.

Oh man, didn’t know they finally gave the Rebel auto 4WD. Almost got a Rebel, but went with a Luxury Sport model instead solely because of that. Have had a number of work trucks with that feature, and it is one of my main gripes about my Tundra.

Love everything about the Rebel now. I know I am in the minority, but have had nothing but excellent experience with owning 3 FCA vehicles (2013 Durango RT Blacktop for 30k miles, 2017 Ram luxury Sport for 3k miles until lady ran a red light and totaled it, and 2014 Jeep SRT for 70k miles). Owned all vehicles since they were new.

Very excited to see what Toyota does with the redesigned 2022. Between it, redesigned Ford Tremor F-150, or a Rebel, there are some great rigs in the near future or currently.

I am going to try and hold out with my Tundra until the Rivian or Tesla trucks come out. Lol, doubtful it will happen tho!

Rebel doesn't use the auto 4WD transfercase, you still have to manually select it.

TRX uses an AWD transfercase from the trackhawk.

My dad custom ordered a 2019 Ram. He took it to Colorado a few weeks ago and already got a check engine light for some stability issue. Only has about 4k miles on it. Suspect he will be getting a Tundra like mine soon...

I'm told that in the last 20 years or so (I owned a 2000 Dodge Dakota, and then a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500), QC/QA on Rams has gotten better.

I take that to mean that the engine/transmission might actually last a decent amount of time. LOL On the 2002 1500 I had, it had all KINDS of issues (rough idle, rusted exhaust manifold, valve body plate broke 2x, multiple check engine lights, and a whole bunch of other stuff). After the *17th* time in the shop in 18 months I was done.

Ram definitely has gotten A LOT better in terms of QC, the design is really top notch on the new 1500, but some of quality issue can be really annoying, there's still potential for the cam lobe issue due to MDS on the Hemi, but thankfully you can disable that now if you do manual gear limit select, I was keen to replace it with an Ecodiesel, but saw some of the service report and decided to save myself the headache.

Drive the Rebel, drive the TRD PRO Tundra............ No comparison unless you want a bunch of gizmos. I did like the Power Wagon, and GM Trailboss/AT4 twins, but the Tundra driving experience was superior, and price was right. The PW, and GM Twins would have been even with the massive discount 10K more. My buddy just bought a new GMC Sierra Denali, he HATES that my Tundra is faster, sounds better, rides better (WAY better on big bumps).... But as he points out he has heated and cooled seats and a surround view camera. oooohhhhh aaaaahhhhhh lol.

Big NO GO's for me on the Ram Rebel - Air lift suspension is a headache waiting to happen, Rotary transmission selector is a joke, around town the Ram was fine, but any kind of higher speed, performance minded driving, the Ram fell on it's face. Ram looks great at 10 feet, but hands on feel is lacking and insubstantial.

My Tundra was my first Toyota and first truck, I generally drove euro sports cars, so no fan boy crap for me. The Tundra TRD PRO had everything I wanted (except stock heated seats) and nothing I didn't. 3 years and 50K trouble free miles, averaging 17MPG overall. I only reset it when I change the oil. Can't ask or expect better. Is a keeper, and hopefully a 20 year car, unless the green team has their way.

My buddy's brand new Rebel left him stranded on the interstate the first week he had it.

They said it was a loose sensor.

My sister's months old Durango ALSO had a "loose sensor."

    Not enough....
I still would only ever by a Chrysler product so long as it has a Cummins under the hood. That said, my father has had two of them, and while the engine has been great, the little bullshit problems he has had with both truck just reaffirm that I never want a domestic truck. My brother's new to him '16 GMC Duramax, already throwing codes and needs a whole new hub assembly with 50k miles on it.

Overall, even with less towing and payload potential, I prefer my good ol' Toyota. I loved my baby first gen AC Tundra, and I love my CM.

I am not a brand loyal truck guy have owned all but Nissan most have treated me well in three to four years of ownership.

3 Rams in a row is why I am driving my first Tundra. Was not at all impressed on how Rams held up with the 2014 being just plain awful. It takes me about a year and half and the mileage puts me out of warranty. Being I am in business and use the truck I need a yearly safety ...my Ram did not pass the first year needed ball joints and one tie rod. That happened on both the 12/14
Second year wasn’t covered under warranty so out of pocket $3600 with a list of things to get it safetied. Not including brakes and tire witch are a normal ware and tar item.
    -water leaks on every one
    -manifold gaskets on every one
-rust on the 2014 had to be painted under warranty year and half old. The job
was so poorly done I started to look at switching out.
    -wheel bearings
    - axel seals
    -suspensions bushing got hard
-seats stitching let go on the 12/14
    and the list goes on

Personally don’t know if there will ever be a fourth Ram

My experience with the tundra has been pretty good so far nothing is perfect but it hasn’t had had anything in four years. It’s goes in for its 4th safety next week so be Interesting. Seams to drive exactly how it was the day she came home.

So in my case there’s no comparison in cost of ownership of a Tundra verse Ram
What I pay in gas over the 2014 Ram is less than $600 a year.
The yearly repair cost on the Ram far exceeded that.

All brands have parts counters and have technicians so things do fail but how often is what matters to some of us.
