Like if they did it before the recall was announced?

    Before or after....
So my buddy has had a code for lean cat bank one I have cleared it 2 times. Then I told him to bring it in hooked it up and watched the data. O2 sensors reading no stuck lean or rich check the cat temps ok so as I was looking at the data it said 85.7 percent alcohol detection I was like that’s not right( he never runs e85 ) I hooked it up to my 13 and mine was 2.5 percent I told him about the recall he is 400 over on the 80,000 warranty the confirmed it’s the fuel pump tsb / recall the said they would cover the parts but not labor
labor is 600 Trying to figure out what it would be normal if it was at Lets say 120,000 my cost on all the parts from the dealer is 550 my book calls for 1.8 and the tsb calls for 2.2 so how is it 600

Yeah I don’t see how they can deny a recall like this for mileage. I’d have him go elsewhere and try again.

They'll deny the labor if it isn't safety issue but 400 miles? Did your friend ever take the truck in for service for this problem before the warranty ran out?

Isn’t the recall only on 18-20 model years? If it wasn’t an effected truck, they won’t cover it.

I read the other day somewhere that they’re expanding the years and models too.

Does his vin come up on the recall list? I just reread one of your posts and you said tsb / recall. Those are 2 different things.

What does the warranty have to do with a recall? They can’t charge you to perform a recall.
