Loncky leather steering wheel wrap. I think @KarmaKannon was the one who turned me on to this. Just took me this long to pull the trigger. Wish I would have done it earlier.

That steering wheel cover looks great @MrDirtjumper !

I finished my steering shaft seal fix today, took a novel approach to finish. Posted up in that thread with pictures.

Adjusted the parking brake, though I probably still need to do the rear brake adjust.

Wired up a set of outlets to the topper, since the truck is going to be our 'lodge' this winter. Removed some old ratty wiring from previous trailer light iterations while at it.

    Satisfying day with the truck.

Well today I learned the hard sway that if you want to relocated your Pioneer backup camera, you best do it right.

So I thought I'd just cut the wire with plenty of slack to work with and move my camera where I wanted to then reconnect the wire. WRONG. It's not 1 wire, it's 3 wires. 1 is what you would expect a thick woven wire and 2 of then are the thinnest gage wires ever (red and yellow). 1 of which (yellow), is actually located within the thick woven wire and very easy to miss all together. I had a pita of a time trying to reconnect that yellow wire today. That job went from an hour to about 4 hours real quick

yea video wire is tiny, the woven stuff is actually the shielding to prevent interference from ruining the picture

I'm guilty of that myself, lol. After spending an awful lot of money for a mere pint of paint ($45), I wanted to be sure I did the appropriate preparation to make it stick well. I did degrease and clean, but I didn't use their etcher solution.

The only complaints I've read online, are those who apply rubberized coatings which tend to trap water and moisture as it deteriorates. For those who are having issues with peeling, it's probably due to the rust already developed and exists well below that painted layer.

Late summer, I've used this stuff on the rear brake backplate (axle side, of course), and the outside of my rear brake drums. A couple of weeks ago, I've used a good deal on my front frame area and bumper reinforcement. It seems to be holding up well.

I need to do my axle as well, probably attempt it in the spring. I might try out Chasis Saver, as it is allegedly more forgiving on the prep.

I’m telling you guys that PB and then Grease Slathering is the way to go. Penetrates the rust and no need for prep and expensive paints. No worries about water getting trapped. Turns matte black in time. Obviously, if your rust is flaking/caking you’ll want to knock that off first. Refresh with PB Showers.

Sensible advice. The remainder of the pint of Por15 I have is probably going to harden by the time spring comes. I just might slather the moly grease all over my axle at that point.

Use a sponge. Another member suggested using a brush and heating the grease if the weather is cold. Says that they have done many vehicles over the years. Cheap and works!

I just used my hands, and a rag. I don't make monies from pics of my hands though. I make money getting greasy, and dirty so it was just another day for me.

Hands work too. I used those Nitrile Gloves for those tight spots on the high frame. @05HiHosilver used a rag and needle nose.

I’ve kept the same oil/grease soaked sponge in a plastic container with lid since first using it. Whenever I see a spot missed or something presents itself during work, I bust off the lid and hit it with the soaked sponge. Its probably soaked with at least a half of a tub of MolyB at the point.

On a nice surface, POR 15 sure is purdy. It's like a powder coat in a can.

I've come to the conclusion that por15+grease and or fluid film on top of it is superior

Snapped another shot of the blinker mod after last nights Monsoon. So stoked. I notice people freak out and give way to me when shifting lanes.
