Anyone ever have the e brake light come on by itself? Yesterday morning it was lit when I started the truck. E brake was not set. Tried depressing it and releasing a few times It stayed on on my way to work but was off when I left. It was -15 degrees that morning wondering if that had something to do with it.

I get it.. 2 reasons, 1. your brake pads may be low or your fluid may be low, which usually indicate excessively worn brakes. 2. Your ebrake may be making a ground contact, so if you tap the ebrake up a little it usually goes away, sometimes it takes multiple times.. I've had the dealership look at it a few times and it still happens every now and then..

thx. If my pads where worn or fluid low would the light go out ? Pushed and released the pedal a few times and nothing.

My truck did the same thing, light started coming on here and there and then just stayed on. All was good after replacing brake pads.
