I always thought the best rule of thumb is whatever your e fine weighs, put an equal amount of weight in bed and you will have the best traction...I have x10 60# tube sand bags in mine and I rarely need 4wd in the snow...comforts the ride a bit too...

I saw that some people have had issues with the passenger sliding around and having to do Velcro or something like that. Honestly, these do not have the nipples on the bottom like a set of husky x-act contours for a double cab Tacoma I had but these do NOT slide at all. These fit fantastic and snug as all get out.

I only added two options; the roof rack for my canoe and the sliding windoors on the sides.

I had seen someone did add some d rings that utilized the factory bed bolts. Added 4. I like it and want to do that to add some stronger clips down low. Especially since I lost one tie down for my swing case

Can't remember who it was but someone here installed a new Tonneau cover and instead of lowering the OEM Rails he just replaced the big circle plastic nut on the cleats with a wing nut and it cleared the Cover. I'm about to purchase a Bakflip MX4 and I don't want to lower the rails if I don't have to. Please chime in if you did this. Thanks.

@NoCoToyo I did this same thingy n that thread that @Tundra234 shared. Mine turned out great. I did find that I had to take a razor blade and cut away the spray in bed liner to help the bed bolts free up. I just sprayed over mine with rattle can bed liner for touch up.

A lot. See my channel for all installs/mods!
Finally got around to fixing the recall on the turn signals, I upgraded to LEDs so it didn’t really matter to me but I wanted to “close” the recall on the truck...Toyota said they’ll just look to see that I swapped the wires next time I bring it in for my 15k service and they’ll close it out...easy fix for anyone who hasn’t done it yet

For a super quick and easy way to contain them you can just drop a board into the bed slots circled in the first pic below. You would basically have a little wall outlined in the second pic.

If you want it more secure than that you could cut and put a piece of plywood or OSB over the bags and screw it into the top of the board. This would basically box the bags in between the board and the tailgate.

3rd easy option if you decide to add more bags would be to stack them in on top of your current bags. Put a couple eyebolts into the top of the board at the blue "X" marks in the second pic and run straps across the tops of the sandbags from your factory tie downs to the eyebolts on the opposite side of the bed. The crossed straps should be able to pin the bags in place so long as you have them stacked high enough for the straps to make contact.

I enjoy reading what you guys with snow have to do. Such a foreign concept to me but I enjoy being educated incase I end up in that environment.

Honestly, I don't add weight to my truck. I make sure my tires have good tread, and I use a light touch on all control inputs. Slamming the brakes, jamming the throttle, or cranking the wheel are all bad news in snowy/icy conditions. Finesse will save you more often than an extra 500 pounds in the bed will.

Not at all. I completely understood that he was being facetious, but because I have buffalo in my front yard on a regular basis I couldn't help myself. :p

Seeing as buffalo aren’t on the North American continent (or South American), I doubt you’ve seen one either. :duel:
I bet you do have bison in your yard, though!
I’ve been to your neck of the woods and those things are beasts.

It’s a misnomer. You could call them monkeys but that wouldn’t technically be correct either. Only 2 types of buffalos have ever existed:
    Water buffalo (South Asia)
    Cape buffalo (Africa)
It’s a very common misconception and I was just ribbin’ ya.

I got the joke, and was not disturbed. I was just pointing out the evolution of language and that Buffalo (specifically used in North America) is commonly used to refer to Bison. It is not biologically correct, but it is grammatically correct. It's similar to using the term Indian to refer to Native American. It's not incorrect even if it's not specifically accurate.
