I went with CM for the sliding window plus cab space. I sometimes go fishing and camping and leave early. I like the space to secure my stuff in the cab while fishing. I rarely have passengers but when I do they enjoy the extra room. Resale on CMs is better but not a consideration for me. Like a previous poster I have a utility trailer so bed is a non issue.

I find the Crew Max to be ugly.

I had a "roll down" window on my '06 DC for 14 years. I rarely used it. Yeah, it is cool but I'm not a windows down person.

LOL if a CM came with a 6.5 bed that is what I would have!
After taking both of them to the dump, i was amazed how much more crap mine fit. I likely had it overloaded.

I see a compelling argument for an onboard compressor in that pic. at least that's what I plan on telling my wife when she wants to take her iSUP on our next summer trip!

14ft fishing kayaks wont ride in the back of a CM without a hitch mounted bed extender.

Not to beat a dead horse too hard... but I would just reiterate that if you have not been in both, don't just decide that the back seat in the DC is too small; go look at both.
DC here, I'm 6'2" and with the driver's seat in my correct position I can get in the back with no problem, knees straight forward not hitting the seat, and head not hitting the ceiling. Not enough space to lay back and spread out, but entirely serviceable for any normal size adult for any average trip. Anyone under 6' I can't imagine what you'd be complaining about. It isn't that the DC back seat is small, it is that the CM's is massive. I read a stat somewhere saying the CM back seat is bigger than that in an S class Mercedes... not sure if that is true, but wouldn't surprise me at all if it is.

Then from there it is the normal situation: I won't have passengers in the back much, and when I do, it won't be me anyway, and unless they are massive, they'll be entirely fine for where ever we are going.

Getting to bed space... an extra foot is a LOT. Especially when loading stuff that doesn't quite fit, like lumber, etc. If I had a trailer and didn't care about bed space, I just would have bought an SUV for even more interior room... clearly ymmv though.
I do wish I could have got a sunroof though; not sure why they didn't offer it in DC... clearance issue maybe? It's the only thing I can think of.

Crewmax has always been sufficient bed space for my needs if not whatever i was hauling was much bigger than another foot I would have gained from a double cab. IMG-4188.jpg

Never understood why the 6.5 bed was not available with the CM. Imagine how many more trucks Toyota would have sold if that was the case. I'm wondering if they will learn with the release of the new truck or not. I have had both and my needs have changed so I went with the DC this time. Absolutely the best setup if you don't need the cab space. But again it would be nice to have both.

Imagine if there were a crew cab option that was right between the DC and CM with a 6’ bed (meaning no change in wheelbase or overall length)...

I bet they’d sell like hot cakes.

I don't disagree with this.... you'd still have a respectable bed and zero complaints about back seat space.

Nice looking rig! What rack is that, and do you find the there is any noticeable wind noise from it?

My DC fills the bill quite nicely. And........there's that huge elephant in the room that CM owners ignore, especially the ones that haul Kids. The DC does better in crash tests. Always have. A bit more important to me than a rear window that goes up and down.

It’s a WR250F (looks similar to a YZ in this pic). No, the front wheel does not move. Both bikes are snug. Easy to load and unload too. Plenty of room for gear bags, gas, ramps, stool, etc.
