Ticking noise during warmup

Noticed yesterday a ticking noise when I warm up the truck for about the first minute or so. Any ideas? 125k miles.

 

Mine does this as well. 55K miles. Is it not normal?

 

Toyota’s tick it’s just a thing they do. It’s kinda like a clock just be happy it keeps on ticking.

 

0w-20? Toyota uses pretty thin oil, not much for suppressing valve chatter.

 

Aluminum block, twin cams with chains and 0-20 weight oil = 5.7 ticking noise.

 

Lucas Upper Cylinder Treatment works quieting things down. Even more so in the winter.

My Tacoma did this and so does my tundra. Not gonna worry unless it gets louder for no reason.

My land cruiser with 225k miles is still doing it a beautiful thing!

 

My neighbor thought I had bought a diesel when the car was new. Surprisingly it got quieter as it aged or maybe I got used to it.

I think there is a hidden typewriter in there somewhere.

After reading this thread I realized my toes, ankles and knees make the same sound and like our trucks, I stopped noticing.

 

Yeah I rack up the miles it’s a 2016

 

Also I’m surprised I’ve never read anything about this noise with everyone saying they have it

 

I had it bad in my 2010 after I let a Ford fan dog my truck. I was told it was the timing chain guide is made of plastic. Broken guide? My 2017 makes a slight tick but, that’s the Tundra.
