I did this on my last camping trip, but I put the cot on the ground next to the Tundra.

I have a $30 Ozark Trail from Walmart. I can't justify the RTT $-wise. Never seen those bed tents, but they look pretty sweet. Definitely an option.

BTW - you Utah boys are killing me! I did a backpacking trip out there a couple years ago and fell in love. Seeing those pics of taking your truck out there into the middle of nowhere would be the ultimate for me.

To each their own on tents. Years back, we were camping outside of moab when a freak storm hit. When it was done we had scorpions and spiders climbing all over our ground tent. My wife
decided at that point she wouldn't return camping unless it was off the ground. The price of a roof top tent is a small investment to keep the family happy, and excited about
    continuing camping.

It's also a little more assuring when a black bear wonders through your campsite a 1am, knowing you're 6ft off the ground.

Definitely another good way to do it! I find putting the cot in the truck bed helps keep the wind from blowing underneath, which seems to keep me a tad warmer on a cold night.

Does anyone here have a four wheel camper set up? I would like to know what have you done to the rear suspension to make it a little beefier if any. TIA

I follow a few on Instagram. You may have better results finding them there. I can think of the usernames right now, but search IG for #fwc or #fourwheelcamper and a handful should pop up.

Check out @Bailey thread. He had a killer four wheel camper setup on his 2010 Tundra.

I first did Timbren and a 1” block. I didn’t like the rough ride due to always riding on the Timbren and overload spring. This would have probably worked if I wasn’t doing serious off-road or left the camper off more than on.
I do leave the camper on a lot, and opted to add a 5/2 heavy leaf spring pack from Dobinsons. It did the trick for me. Rides more like a 3/4 ton when the camper is off. I’m ok with that.
I have the Raven shell which is about 900lbs. My truck weighs about 7400lbs fully loaded out. I weighed the truck at a truck stop.
Got 20 days carved out to head from SC to AZ around thanksgiving!

I have a fleet front dinette on mine. Did Dobinsons HD front and back. Beefy enough that I don’t think I need my airbags any more.

Small Toyhauler for me. I also use the Toyhauler for work purposes doing trail projects.

Or if it's just a few nights I just sleep in the bed. The girlfriend prefers just sleeping in the truck as well. Lol

do you have an up-close pic of your sliders? are they also from CBI?

Lastly -- what tent model and size? Curious if it sticks off the back and how far if so?

They are from CBI also, I can take some pics of them.

The tent is a CVT Rainier Hybrid. I'll see if I have any side pics to see how it fits over the bed.

I’m ok for a FwC meetup. I’ll be solo so I’ll probably need a little company at that point of the journey anyways. And a tour guide is always nice because I’m just gonna be purposefully aimless. Just have to make it back to SC by the time I have to report back to work.

I'm glad I found your posts. I'm getting ready to pick up a '19 DCLB to put my FWC Granby on and I'm figuring out my suspension now. Unfortunately the truck is in limbo at the dealership because of the fuel pump recall so I have time to figure out what I want to do and get things ordered.

Love the Gofast as it is just that. Bug out in no time, and still practical for daily use. Almost 300lbs, so easily sits on the back without suspension mods. But, it lacks creature comforts. Again, it is all according to your style.
Mine is fast and minimal, mostly for hunting.
