    Greetings,
Thank you for providing this resource for Tundra owners. I look forward to exploring the forum, learning, and hopefully sharing.
Briefly about me: I live in a small community in the mountains of Colorado. I'm in my 50s, knifemaker, flyfisher, shooter, self-employed in the log home industry, and love everything outdoors related. Own a 40 acre placer gold mine but rarely have time to enjoy it anymore. Mechanically inclined with a lot of tools and repair resources. Very good at repairing and modifying TJ & YJ Jeeps but a novice with this Tundra. Different animal. Which brings me here....
The truck: 2000 Tundra Limited (red), access cab, 4.7L w/K&N intake. Over 300K miles, one owner, runs excellent. OP had timing chain, ball joints and exhaust replaced recently. I got it from a good friend for practically nothing.
Things I've done: Scan revealed cyl 6 misfire (P0306) which I resolved with a new coil pack a couple of months ago. Driveshaft carrier bearing replaced. Power steering res replaced. And... the dreaded rear wheel bearings. Learned all about that and successfully replaced them. Did some cosmetic stuff once everything was running well: LED headlight and foglight upgrades, rear bumper replaced, front bumper blacked-out, replaced chrome grille with black (sorry, I hate chrome), replaced hood-lift struts.
Now that everything is in order I'm about to do a budget lift (leveling). I've ordered the Rough Country lift/leveling kit... 2.5" front and 1.5" rear. I'll be replacing front strut assemblies at the same time. Also adding larger tires: 285 75 R16
Question: Is factory wheel backspacing adequate for this lift? I'll be getting new alloys so I can definitely get different backspacing. Don't want any rubs and I'm not a fan of wheel spacers.
    Any advice welcome. Thank you!

I think rough country is not common so you won't get a lot of feedback. But you alreafy ordered it, so please report back on fitment, performance and ride.

Thanks again Cummins, very good thread you linked. I ordered a new set of 5 wheels & tires from Desert Rat (285 75 16, zero offset). I'll put them on when I do the lift/leveling kit.... probably next week sometime. Will post pics when it's complete.

I'm hoping that there's enough room under the bed to carry the spare... pretty sure it'll fit after measuring.

I know a few guys that have fit 285/70/17 under the bed so yours should fit.

those methods are sharp. I put a set of 304 double standards on mine.

I’ve gotta figure out something for my spare. The hammer hanger kit w/ cross bar I’ve got coming won’t fit with it under there.

I almost went for the 304 doubles. My rationale for the 301's was that they would be easier to clean with fewer spokes.

Ok, I get it... and I like the concept. Something new to put on my wish list. I'm guessing it might help a little on washboard dirt roads as well as the other benefits.
