Headlight Restoration Kit and HID conversion

    I was going to convert my headlights over to HIDs as the lens on the truck were glaring pretty bad. However I opted to just perform a headlight restoration with the Sylvania kit and its results were amazing!

    I highly recommend the kit. Unfortunately I do not have before and after pictures :(.

    However there are quite a few before and after pictures within the reviews on Amazon.

    Anyone else use this kit before?
    Is it better to convert over to HIDs or just put the best bulb I can buy in the factory headlights?

    I am looking for distance and brightness as I do majority of my driving at night.

    I was once where you are now. I used the 3m heavy duty kit. It did the job other than getting small scratches out. Is was at this point I decided to retrofit my headlights. Hids in stock headlights are super bright and even have more coverage than my hid projectors. Problem is there in a reflector bowl and the pattern is wide spread. It's illegal in some states. Will definitely be getting flashed, whether by headlights or someone's finger. Good luck

    An HID in a halogen bulb bowl is super bright only to oncoming vehicles. It does not distribute the light in an effective and usable way like it does in a proper projector.

    I agree your best option is a retrofit. Lots of info over at hidplanet as well as some examples here. There are also a few vendors here that sell retrofitted headlights for Tundras if you don't want to diy
