Then went and got it dirty, back at it cutting and splitting wood for next year. Plus I got to try out the 2 new stihls I just bought, a 201c and 462c w/ a 25" bar. They're insanely light for their power. They're definitely going to make my life a bit easier getting through cutting my massive woodpile of logs. There's definitely a huge difference in power between a homeowner and professional saw. Unfortunately a huge difference in price tag too. But to cut for 8 hrs straight and hardly even get fatigued is pretty impressive.

I know right. I stole them off some guy on the forum that didn't know any better haha lol. I never even knew they had a cool little reflective built into the letters that you can see at night when light hits it.
    20200902_192908.jpg

As much as I love them with the added function, and plan to keep them forever, I gotta say I love the look without them too that I came across before when looking for pics of the truck and dog. Love the perception of added height with nothing mounted too.
    20200828_185013.jpg

Despite liking the look of nothing, I have zero intentions of taking these off. I love the peace of mind they offer. Matter of fact the other day I blew through a small tree hanging out into the road on my way to work. It came down right in front of me and I had zero time. The SSO bumper took it right on and broke the top off breaking and clearing it well off the road way. If it wasn't for that I'd have 1 messed up destroyed front bumper. Little black spray paint and I was good as new, same with sliders. That extra protection is priceless.

I know you'll appreciate this last pic. At only 6 months old he looks like he's on steroids lol. He can jump right into and out the truck very easily. I weighed him last week and with like zero body fat he was already 78 lbs.

How'd you wire up the Hellas? They've been sitting in my garage for months. I have no idea how to wire them up because the instructions suck.

They are super easy to wire up.
Factory horn only has 1 power wire. That is your (+).
There is no factory (-) lead as the horn is grounded to the frame with the bolt that fastens the horn to the radiator support.

To wire up the new horn, connect the horn positive to the factory wire (+).
For the (-) there are 2 options:
    1) run a small jumper wire from horn to the bolt the factory horn grounded at.
    2) run a dedicated (-) wire back to the ground bolt by the battery.

If i recall correctly, on the horn, the wider tab should be the (+)

Finally got around to adding in a budget exhaust. Just cut and replaced with an 18” magnaflow exhaust. Kept all the factory exhaust as it’s still 2 in and single out. Sounds really good and not obnoxious what so ever. Does have a bit of drone around 1800 RPM but not a huge concern. Will be interesting to see how it sounds once it’s been on the truck for a month. Magnaflow always takes a bit for the packing to settle in. Magnaflow part number 12288

I'm sure that sounds great. I went with their 2.5" stainless cat back dual in/out system, part # 15306. The site lists it as an aggressive exterior sound but moderate for interior. I don't notice a drone at all and realize sound is a very subjective topic.

What prompted me to reply was your comment about MF packing needing time to settle in...are you suggesting it gets louder over time?

That is the exact kit I wanted to go with but the budget just didn’t allow for it. How do you like it? Great looking set up. As for the magnaflow sound change, I have noticed over the years with multiple different vehicles that the tone changes mostly after a month or so. Lots of similar opinions on some other forums with magnaflows. I will never go back to a flow master kit ever again. To raspy and snappy sounding.
