Dumping my 2019 Platinum - Maybe?

Anyways I think you are right to let things settle down. I was very close to trading in my 2019 but it’s in perfect shape and with my luck I’d get a lemon!

 

I think everyone is having trouble getting parts right now. TPMS sensors for my new winter tires were delayed by about 2 weeks.

 

Didn't they add cylinder deactivation to the 6.6 and give it an aluminum block? Or were those only rumours?

 

These identical sx, downshift snap, turning and binding, everything else I had with the wife's old santa fe. Was the rear diff / transfer.

I admit that I like my TPMS set up with my 14. My 07 came without TPMS and drove it that way for over 4 years. I still don't trust it. I still hand check my tire air pressure. Old school. old fart....so there.ha!

 

yes I agree with this. Our 2500hd and plain white, stripped down with utility beds on them. They drive the hell out of them and not 1 problem. We also have 2 older hd's with the 6.0. They have been very reliable, but no where near the new 6.6 in the power department. Our guys love them. Another reason why I was entertaining one.

Once again we have had some major issues with our F-450 XL crew cabs we bought at end of 2017. We bought the Ford Platinum Plus warranty on the for $2,565 a piece. They have been in for bad oil leaks, brake booster went out, DPF problems. The 3 have between 110k to 145k miles. All 3 issues were not covered under warranty, which is a whole other issue and is going up the corporate ladder. We are done with Fords. They were always a little on the edge for quality but the last 3 years has been exceptionally bad in our experience.

We also have about 8 GMC Denalis out upper management drive. 2013 to 2019's. I hate to say it but they have been really good. I was looking at our 2015 and it has 249k on it and runs really well with no major problems.

We have plans to add 4 more 6.6 gas trucks at the end of the year. These will be replacing some of our older Fords the crews drive every day to job sites.

 

Except for dodge and the 6.4 hemi. Don’t know why they got the bright idea to add cylinder deactivation to a heavy duty truck engine when it was released back in 2014

 

One other thing, other than some good reviews on YouTube, what is the verdict on new 7.3 Ford gas engine? Have not met a single person that has one yet?

 

yeah that is what I watched and it was impressive also.

I have looked at a Ford F-250 a little bit there is a lot less gas, F-250, leather seats available. If you find one that is gas and leather it is usually a higher end trim like Platinum, King Ranch and $70k. Hard to find an XLT gas with nice options and leather. They are more dedicated to the power stroke it seems.

GM seems to make a good amount more of the middle trim, LT, in leather and gas and other upgrades.

Does not seem to be Ford's thing.

 

sort of but not really.... I attempted to build one in a Fords site on my phone and it was about impossible. For whatever reason some of the drop down box selections were off the screen and it was really clunky compared to Chevys site so I gave up, haha.

Seen them on YouTube obviously and sharp trucks. I am just jaded to Fords as we have so many problems with them at work in all configurations. F150 through F750's.

 

You can turn the cylinder deactivation off on the Rams if you don’t want it , at least they give us the option .

 

The tremor forum has a few guys with buybacks and some other issues. New engine, there's going to be some kinks to work out.

Yeah I jumped in my laptop and looked at it some more this morning. It is a pretty sweet looking truck, but not my thing as far as some of the features. I personally like the 2500hd LT with the package add ons. Less money than tremor also. Not saying they are perfect, but Chevy over time builds some pretty solid engines and drive lines for the most part in trucks.

 

Since the Tremor is billed as an off road package, I'd look at it as more of a comparison to the AT4. If you're looking at an LT, I believe an XLT would be a more direct comparison. However, if I was buying a domestic truck, GM would be my first choice over Ford, anyway.

 

Have you removed your sway bar to see if that's making the noise?

 

So here’s my thoughts that you haven’t asked for What you choose to do with your truck and why is your business. Having worked in auto sales once and having bought and traded a ton of vehicles over the years I feel qualified to have an opinion. Sales especially auto sales is a now business. Do you need to swap tour truck now? If so now is a fantastic time to take advantage of great deals and high resale/trade in values. This may solve a lifestyle problem for you right now and if so that has value. It may create a headache down the road if the new truck becomes unreliable or depreciates a massive amount and you need to sell it for a loss. Who do you want to pay right now Peter or Paul?

I believe the redesigned Tundras will go over like a lead balloon. They’re going to make them car like probably, no V8’s etc it’ll drive like a boring lifted Camry most likely. This will create value in your 3rd gen Tundra down the road but not now. Right now your trade/resale value will drop in the short term due to the redesign. The thing with trucks is it’s all in the eyes of the beholder so it sounds like that Chevy is a rare species so that will help offset the usual depreciation factor since it’ll be harder for people to find. A gas tow rig is hugely popular for a good reason. You definitely lose some practicality around town but you’re now essentially a big rig and that’s a lot of fun!!
