So I installed a set of King 2.5’s with Camburg Balljoint uppers over the weekend. Got it aligned today at 4wp... the drive home felt smooth and no shake/wobble at freeway speeds. Doesn’t seem to pull one direction or the other. I can feel the “heavier” steering with the high caster, but it feels good. My concern is when I put some new tires on will I see abnormal wear with the below numbers? Should I take it to a different alignment shop to see if they can get better numbers?4D2AEA0A-92BB-4F31-85DF-31D06DB2BD54.jpg

TTT. Interested in this as well. As my numbers are close in some areas and different in others.

I’m getting it realigned at an alignment specialist shop. I expect the numbers to fall back in spec aside from my caster. But even my caster is high, Camburg told me it should be in the low 6’s not 7+. Numbers aside, I can tell it isn’t right during slow tight turns.

    What lift height you running?

I have Camburg (uniball) and running into toe issues due to now not running 3"+ of lift. The high caster built into Camburg is great for 3+, not so much so with less than that from my personal experience and what others have mentioned.

My tie rod issue is an easy fix, remove threaded rod into the outer tie rod and grind off 1/8 - 1/4" of threads and all will be good.

I also have king 2.5 with camburg uniball UCAs. These are my numbers. Truck drives straight, no uneven wear, feels very stable at speed. But In slow tight turns especially in parking lots the front tires squeal like I’m going way faster than I actually am lol

I have the kings set to the max ride height per accutune’s website. Not sure how much that is but I figure ~3? It’s 12 threads on driver.

In slow tight turns, when I get to a certain point it will no longer self correct if I were to let go of the steering wheel and almost feels like the tires are folding under. Hard to describe I guess, just a different feeling that is somewhat uncomfortable. Turning radius is shit too because it’s like I’m dragging or forcing the tires through the turn.

so there’s a lot of geometry that’s changed of course and it’d be foolish to think it would drive the same as before, but first thing to ease my mind is get camber/tow as close to spec as possible, get rid of some caster then relearn the feel. Appt for alignment is Wednesday, this shop uses the old school method to align and does everything from tractors to rv’s to racers so I’ll post the numbers after.

If it still doesn’t feel right after that then maybe some different arms are in the future, we’ll see.

Are you feeling anything with the toe issues you have or just seeing abnormal wear?

Neither, I'm just not 100% where I want to be.

Best I can do now is about .16 cross, I want to be closer to .10/.12 cross as I feel that's best.

Gotcha, what are you going off? Just past experience? Is there a certain set of numbers available on here that are tried/true I could give the shop to adjust to?

Any idea why it squeaks? I noticed the same issue after getting my alignment done about a month ago. I'm on a 3\1 toytec leveling kit with SPC UCAs. I've only heard it once so far making a tight right turn in a parking lot.

I believe the squealing is due to the now altered ackermann angle from lifting, could easily be wrong though. just a thought

Should I be concerned? Besides the one time squeak, the truck drives solid :muscleflexing:.

I have no idea lol, It doesn’t bother me, just notice that it does that. Also I can really feel the lugs on my MT tires a lot more on tight turns then on Gradual turns, not sure what that means

Just got the alignment redone yesterday at True Line Wheel in El Cajon, CA. What an awesome shop. Can’t recommend them enough.

    caster 6.5/5.5
    Camber -.125/-.125
    Toe 1/8”

Truck drives smooth and straight. Getting some toyo AT3’s installed tomorrow morning, so I’ll be watching the tread wear consistently for the next few months.

as for the question in the OP, the tire size shouldn't affect the alignment numbers, as that is typically measured by the wheels.

if it's good now, it should be good then. If it isn't good now, it won't be good then.
