Yep, the rail is 3/4” square solid bar. It’s held up by six 3/8” lags, and I made sure I hit joists. I hung from it to test the strength. It’s not coming down.

Love my iron. Tonight was chicken breasts seared, then finished off in the oven with my super secret broth. :spy: :hungry:

we all have different opinions on the value of certain things in life. For me, the decision was easy - yes they are worth it
those who eat out vs cook
recycled clothes and shoes vs lots of new clothes, boots, shoes
people spend thousands on blades to collect
rims and lifts vs stock for pavement queens
    etc etc

ive got an egg pan (8in) that i use for eggs every morning for the past 10 years or so. it also makes a mean cornbread. those are the only 2 things allowed in it. everything else goes in the chicken fryer, or the 12 in pan. ive got 3 that i use almost daily, and maybe 6 more assorted cast irons that i rarely use and a big ol le creuset dutch oven for all the sauces/stews/whatever else wont go into those 3 pans.

I have never had scrapple, but hear that it's awesome. I guess the closest I've had is fried Spam, which I love.

We may be the only people that don't live in Hawaii that like spam, but scrapple is better. Haggis kicks scapple's ass as far as meats made from discards go.

Great thread! I just found it. You all have some nice pieces. My collection consists of nothing vintage, and all Lodge except for 1 asian dutch oven that I use as a rice pot.

    So far I have:

    2- Bread Pans
    9", 10", and 12" Skillets
4.5 qt (this is the asian one), 5 qt, and 7 qt dutch ovens
    Griddle
    Bacon Press
    Large Wok
    2- butter melters
    3- trivits

All used regularly with the skillets being the most used. I have yet to come across any vintage stuff that isnt cracked up or pitted too bad, but I continue casually looking and hoping.
