I have a tundra crewmax short bed. Tires seem ok cooper discover .but in rain real easy to spin the tires from a stop. They passed inspection from the toyota dealer i got it from. I think they said 5/32 but cant remember. Is there a better tire for these trucks . I know weight in the back will help but i am in the poconos and have to drive about 70 miles one way. Looking for really good snow or if possible icy conditions. Thanks

I'm in the foothills, so we do get snow. Only on month 2 with the truck, but no issues in rain, mud, gravel, etc.

Had a taco trd pro prior to the tundra. Falken wildpeak at3w on it, also zero issues in any weather. Cant recall if I had those on or stock goodyear wranglers (which wore out fast!) When we had to get out and drive in 18" of snow (furnace went out and needed fuses lol). Think the falkens for that.

Cant wait to run the coopers in the snow this winter tho.

They do pick up and toss some big rocks too..

I just recently upgraded 04 Limited to a 20 Limited, all stock. On my 04 I ran Firestone Destinations in the summer and Bridgestone Blizzaks in the winter. I live in NW MN and the temps are very cool to frigid late fall through spring. The Blizzaks were on from November through March. My driveway has a steep incline and prior to using the Blizzaks 4x4 was needed going from road to garage when snow was on the ground. With Blizzaks 4x4 was never needed. Outside of the added traction on the incline, acceleration and stopping on daily driving was significantly improved. I've had a couple sets over the years and will be buying a set very soon for my new 2020.
One thing you cannot do is drive the Blizzaks into warmer temps. That rubber is so soft that you will burn them out within a month of summer daily driving. No exaggeration!
I know, nothing sexy about my choice but it works for me.

Have had these for a few thousand miles. Very quiet, no louder than the stock michelin tires. Ride smooth, good traction, very good in rain.

I do quite a bit of overlanding and always love the Duratrac. I've tried A/T's, Nittos, etc. but the Duratracs are always my favorite in terms of great overlanding performance blended with not too much road noise and they're great in snow (I live in the mtns of CO so that is needed)

I'm running BFG KO2 in stock size but LT Range E. Doing the math I'm running 45 PSI all around. Little bit noisier than the Michelins, but doesn't sound bad. Rides smooth. Looks great.

275/70-18, load E. Pretty much everything is load E if you try and go any larger than stock size on a Tundra.

Must mention Falken, as they are great tires especially know for the conditions you describe. Also new Toyo AT3 looks legit and American made.

    Currently in BFG K02.

Next set on my Tundra will be the Cooper AT3 XLT.

I have a Jeep and just put a set of Coopers on it 2 weeks ago and just got back from a 700 mile round trip to some trails. Super happy. I'll buy them again.

edit: I forgot to add...I've had several sets of Coopers in various models over the years on different vehicles...just not my Tundra. Always been happy with Coopers.

Tires are one of those things that really vary depending on the driving style you do and where you live.

We needed new tires for the tundra and found out Recently that’s there’s hardly any stock around here and won’t be for some time so had to try something new.

I have had many different tires on our trucks ko2’s so far have been the best fit good on the job sites and great on snow. Cooper st maxx have been the most disappointing tire I ever owned couldn’t get them balanced ...tried several shops. They didn’t perform well on wet very poor on hard pack snow and didn’t ware well at all. Couldn’t stand them any longer so changed them out recently. Loved the look of them though!!!

B1799802-9243-45B8-9BF0-3D2491FA3E2A.jpg Just installed Falken wildpeaks at3w’s haven’t had them long enough to give much feed back but they are pretty quite for a AT tire. Feels like I am driving an new Truck. Hoping they are as good as others say they are in snow.

Never had any balancing issue with my Cooper STT Pro's or ST Maxx's. The Maxx's performed quite well in most conditions here in Colorado including snow. Damn decent tire.
