Does it matter which direction the half moon washers face in the rear when you put them on first? Like flat side towards the front or rear or anything?

Flat goes towards the back with the lip going towards the front to allow them to hang.. it’s self explanatory once your under there and hang them

Yes sir, it really is a great upgrade!

    Thanks Pete, much appreciated!

I have mine as @SC_TRD mentioned, but honestly I was unaware that it mattered...the instructions on their website don’t specify, thanks for mentioning that Colin!

Good video, I installed mine earlier this spring. I just laid on my back with the plate on my stomach wasn’t too bad to install.

Awesome product! @2020Platinum yours in the video looks like it’s 2 pieces bolted together? My RCI plate is one single piece of steel.

That's a bit odd. RCI started with the 2 piece early on and switched to a one piece skid.

I'm wondering if you were sold old stock? They stopped making the two piece over 3 + years ago....

I plan on getting another RCI skid setup soon for my 14. I'm fairly close to RCI so I can save on shipping. I'll prolly call them tomorrow. I want to make sure I get the one piece front skid.

Yea if you don’t mind let me know, I’m going to reach out to them as well just to update everyone...I never would have even realized it to be honest, as long as those 2 pieces never come separated it won’t bother me...lol...I did order mine through a 3rd party website though so that’s probably why...I’m going to send them a message as well, they actually have both pics shown under the skid plate...I got it at a discount too so maybe that could be it???...I’ll post what I find out, thanks for heads up!

Ok so I heard back from the company I purchased from already (Offroad Alliance)... they said that these plates come directly from RCI to the customer and they are going to contact them to get a definitive answer for me… It did come in a box labeled RCI so it must’ve come directly from them, I’ll keep you guys posted!

That's definitely possible. There definitely is a pic of a two piece raw Aluminum front skid and one piece steel. Quite possible the Aluminum was always a two piece. Not sure at all now...ha!

Ok guys here’s what RCI had to say, I included a screen shot of the email, but according to them the 2 piece is the current design for the 1/4” powder coated aluminum...hope it helps!

I went back and looked at RCI website and it does state “2 piece design” in the features section

Just got and installed the RCI steel engine skid plate today. It's nice. Heavy as hell. So much nicer than the factory aluminum foil skid plate. The steel version I got is also a two-piece design as well. Still pretty darn solid though. When installing by yourself, do yourself a favor and use a rolling jack to raise it and line up the bolt holes. Would have been really difficult without it.

Looks good man!...yea a jack definitely helps when going solo, and couldn’t agree more about the factory skid...this thing makes the factory skid look/feel like a piece of paper, well worth the money!

Glad to see this worked with the 4/2 SST Lift--I have the same lift.. The possible incompatibility is the only reason I haven't bought one for my 2014. Seems like it fit just fine. I will be making the purchase very soon.

I'm about two weeks away from purchasing one of these myself, my stock skid is toast at this point. Some of the forest service "roads" here are really bad, I usually have to hammer the stock skid plate back out every time I pull it off to change the oil filter.

Yep. I was expecting the single piece based on the photos on their site. Regardless, seemed really solid to me so I'm not worried.

Yea no issues at all!...fits perfectly, and a huge upgrade!
Yea I never even gave it a second thought, they said they’ll be updating the website pics and the 2 piece is the current skid being produced...it’s a beast for sure!
