2007 SR5 with 8' bed

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Jennifer, Oct 14, 2020.

?

Should I buy a new 8' bed Tundra if I can find one?

  1. Hell no, spend the money on cleaning up/maintaining this one.

    100.0%
  2. Yes, it's worth waisting $50,000+ on essentially what you already have. (is that biased..lol)

Hi kids....... I just joined the site.... my name's Jennifer (but you already knew that from my user name). I'm running an old girl... a 2007 with 8' bed. The only reason I've not replaced her with newer is..... THERE'S NO NEED.... lol (and I can't find another 8' bed). I bought her in Canada (I'm a dual citizen) and currenly live near Vegas where she enjoys a life of luxury playing on the gold fields while we dig up nuggets, the 8' bed holds my ATV perfectly.

Looking forward to learning lots from you all... I just installed Techstream and programmed a new key and just ordered new 6112/5100's after finding out on the weekend (when I put new Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's on her) that she needs new legs... (6112's at 1.9" clip setting 3 with 275/70/18).

PS: Please pay no attention to the crease below the left rear tail light, the guy who said joshua trees were soft was full of poop.

Yes, it took some getting use to, it was my first truck and I only paid 14k (Canadian, about 10k US) for it so it was a no brainer, especially once I saw my ATV in the back with the tail gate CLOSED. lol (photo below was my first ATV in it, the first day she came home).

    4.7 litre

352,547klm (she's Canadian) so 219,062 miles, every day I show her a picture of the million mile Tundra's to keep her motivated.. lol.... only issue I have now is a slight engine lag at 2500 that's been there for years, goes away as soon as you get above 2600, thought it was maybe o2 sensors or a pump leaving me but it's been there for years, even after new plugs..... it's not fancy fuel (Flex) so doubt the known issue around a software update would help, may throw a new pump into her just in case.

The 4.7L is an awesome engine, I have one in my 2002 regular cab long bed Tundra but it only has 4 forward gears (3 plus OD). Have you cleaned the throttle body and MAF recently? That sort of maintenance may eliminate the lag at 2500... I purchased my 2007 when it had 270,000 miles, 295,000 today and all I do is fill the tank and clean & maintain it.

I stand corrected, I did have to put new knock sensor connectors in, the desert mice love Tundra wires, thankfully you can get the plug at the local auto parts store (they call them Fuel Injector connectors).
