Hi everyone. I just joined the Tundra community with a new silver 2020 Limited TRD Double Cab 4x4 (traded in my Jeep). I’m hoping to eventually put a camper shell on the back with a half-width truck vault to store my gear when kayak fishing and camping and also use it as a sleeping platform. I’ve got my eye on the ARE MX if I can figure out if it’ll fit through my 7’ tall garage door. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself to the group!

I had an MX on my 14. I'm guessing the MX rooftop was about 6" higher than the top of my cab. 7 ft might be a tight fit.

Yeah, if it’ll fit, it’ll just barely fit!

I only sold my MX because it was red. Paid only $420! Had to drive to Scottsbluff to get it. Sold it for $800. Crazy huh? Craigslist killer deal and I got to see the bluffs...heh...heh. Check Craigslist for ARE MX deals. Just might be worth driving a ways. Better if it's color matched.

Actually.....maybe closer to 8"'s higher. If you can score a decent used MX cheap and off color...get it painted. Used DC toppers go for way less than CM's. Another plus to own a DC.....plus the longer bed!

It’s a world apart. The Jeep I had was lifted on 35s and while a super fun vehicle around town and on the trail, it was horrible on the highway. I just traded my kayaks for a high-end model to fish bigger water with more stability and fishability, and I need a vehicle to get me to those lakes more comfortably. The Tundra is nice for that! I also envision being able to sleep in back and already have my eyes on an ARE shell and a truck vault!

Well, if I can’t do the MX, I’m debating the Overland or the CX/HD. Any thoughts?
