Does anyone know if the 2021 Limited Premium Package includes remote start? The documentation I've seen is rather ambiguous. Thank you in advance.

It should include the one year of remote start with the app. Download the Toyota app. MY 2020 and 2021 that have push to start also have remote start with the fob by pressing the lock button 3 times and on the third time holding it until the lights flash then the truck will turn over. You obviously have to be within remote range of the vehicle, which I’m a touch disappointed with. Seems the remote range is fairly short honesty. That’s my subjective opinion.

Thank you. So around $80/year after year 1? Dang. At least there's no aftermarket hardware to buy...

I'm sure the key fob remote start will work with any Tundra that can remote start via the app. The key fob remote start does NOT require a subscription.

And I agree that the range is much too short. The range on my old Titan was significantly longer.

So the subscription is to do remote start via their app? I'm quite OK at pressing FOB buttons! What sort of range are we talking about here?

 Thank you for your post, I had no idea I could start my truck using the remote as well!

I haven't measured, but my Titan was good for door unlocks from my bedroom, through multiple walls, about 75' away, as long as the battery was good. My Tundra is only good for half of that. The outside line of sight range was much better, obviously, as is the Tundra. but the Tundra still has a shorter range.

That difference may prompt me to keep the subscription for the app, even though it is kind of clunky sometimes.

A trick to increase the range some with your fob: Open your mouth and look toward your Tundra. While doing this, hold the fob to the fleshy part under your chin while pushing the button. Sounds crazy, but it works.

Thank you all. It's nice to not have to go spend $100 to $400 on remote start hardware. And RE: the avatar, yeah -- it has been a rough patch, one that is soon to be over.

Yeah, my remote start is a bit underwhelming. But I get that they’re trying to keep people from hopping in and stealing your truck.

Also, when the truck is running via remote start, at least after using the fob to start the truck, when you unlock the doors to get in, it turns off the truck.

Yeah, it does that regardless of whether you use the app or the fob to remote start it. One of the stupidest settings in the whole Tundra ECM.

Hmm, that sounds like a security "feature".

Is there any integration with the heating/cooling system? As-in, will it just pick up where I left it off or can it be programmed to auto-warm even if I've left the heat off? Ditto for A/C, I guess, however thankfully I don't live somewhere where pre-cooling is a necessity.

Ditto for the seat warmers, I guess.

It picks up where you left off. Climate controls, seat tempcontrols. And yes I think it is a security feature.

A MUCH better "security" feature for this would be to just NOT unlock the truck unless you have the key fob. And that would be MUCH more convenient without sacrificing the security. And if a Toyota rep says it's a "safety" feature I call BS again. The truck is in PARK!

I realize this thread is old, but I noticed my fob remote start quit working around the time Toyota started hounding me about my Remote Connect trial ending. I called tonight and a Toyota rep told me that the fob won't work either unless you have an active subscription. 50k+ truck and the greedy bastards want to charge $8/month to use the remote start that's already built in.

Check out this thread. Some say it should be included for 10 years.

My 2021 Limited can be remotely started with the remote and Toyota Connect. Of course, it needs to be registered with Toyota Connect for the remote to work. That is what I was told.

Do you have to use the app on your phone or can you login via a web application too? Picking mine up tomorrow!

You can use the app to remote start or the key fob. My dealership had everything set up for me on the vehicle end. I was sent a email link and asked to download the app using the information I provided the dealership. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle that during the walk around, everything was connected on the spot. I was good to go!

    By the way, congratulations!
