Has anyone heard anything about 2018 tundra trd pro? Are they coming out with one? And if they are, what paint colors? Hopefully they can bring back the cement color!

Still a little too early for the show.
    We were given the following dates up in Canada regarding the Tundra in general;

Mid Model Update - Arriving to Canadian Dealerships roughly Mid August.
Dates are as always tentative however.

No specific mentions of trim levels, other than we know they are introducing the TRD Sport trim to align the trucks with the Tacoma and such.
Pricing is often not verified until a couple weeks or so before their actual arrival on lots.

A little of this and a little of that.
According to a video I saw on here yesterday they are having a TRD Sport, TRD Off Road and a TRD Pro.

If they follow the trend, there won't be a cement Pro but it'll be available in other trims.

A cool type blue for a TRD pro would get me in a hurry to upgrade my truck to a true Pro... love blue.

White is pretty classic, they'd be foolish to drop white imo.

I may wait to see if they make a powertrain change for 2019 model year. Even if they do I can see maybe a +2 increase in MPGs. When they do make the change I can also see a nice price hike and probably little discounting for first 6 months like the Gen3 Tacoma. I am guessing final price would be $1500+ to the 2018s. At +2 mpgs, pay back would be 5 years assuming $2.50 gas and 20k miles/year

This is the only color that they have kept all 3 model years. I doubt White is going anywhere. I'm placing an order on a white 2017 this week.. can't wait.

I saw something today with plenty of strategically placed tape and it's color was without hue equally stimulating all three cone cells within the eye. Sunlight could illuminate the operators face from directly above and sound would serve as a subtle reminder that things may be too close as you slowly approach them.

I saw on another page today that Toyota has announced to dealers to not take orders for any 2018 Tundra TRD Pro because they won't be making any.

    That's the word!

I was shocked too, they are continuing the Tacoma (and I assume the 4Runner) and I think they mentioned a blue color for the Pro lineup for 2018

It was mentioned on the TRD Pro Enthusiasts FB page today when a member inquired today at a dealership about getting one and he was told they weren't going to be available for 2018, it was later confirmed in the discussion by a member who works for a Toyota dealership. It sounded like it was just announced to dealers in last few days.

Toyota will be pushing the TRD Sport in 2018, so there will be a TRD PRO hiatus until 2019.

I agree. Just proves they are not committed to truck market. Sport has no where near the features of a Pro. Looks like a SR5 and mod myself will be what I end up doing. If and when the Pro comes back in 2019 dealers will be jacking up the price. They will also do it on the few 2017s that are left.

First I do not like fake hood scoops.
What about the interior and the tires? Toyota needs to offer a decent AT tire option on their trucks like GM does. Even if you can get a tire store to give you credit it gets expensive to swap tires on a new truck. I did rears once because I just wanted MTs on rear. Fortunately when I bought my last F150 4x4 I was able to pu the OEM take offs on another F150 I had that needed tires. Right now I have 4 configurations priced out a modded SR5 in DC and CM and Pro in DC & CM. One article I read had some big changes coming for about halfway through the 2018 model year. I will try to find it again.

the Pro tires suck balls too IMO so you will change them anyways.
I'm with you on the fake hood scoop though

yeah I know but at least I can run them for a while. They are Michelins so I might be able to sell fairly easy. Michelin does make a decent street tire.

So if they do discontinue Pro for 2018 when would be the last date to order a 2017? I actually suspect they are planning a late release with some tweaks but it is hard to separate rumor from legitimate news on the 2018s right now.

The 17s will probably cease production in late july, and 18s available late August, if you want a certain color or cab configuration I'd start looking for one sooner rather than later. If dealers are being told not to take orders for 18 Pros due to it being discontinued, that's a good indication that there won't be any.

is the pro really worth more money? I had a "Pro dude" come up to me today in the parking lot and say he wished I would trade him because he like my truck. I told him mine was just a murdered out SR5 debadged with a lift, he said he knows but his wasn't worth the extra coin....
