Plenty planned thanks to all of you.
Just wanted to post up and say HI. I picked up my new (to me) 2014 5.7 MGM CM about 10 days ago. I love 2 to 3 year old vehicles and have never gone wrong with them. I started lurking here a week prior to purchasing my truck because (a) I love to improve my ride (within my ability) and I also wanted to see what the possibilities were (holy crap).

This is my 5th Toyota (4Runner Trail, 4Runner SR5, Taco SR5, and a Scion tC) and I've loved everyone of them. I swore that I'd never buy a truck this big because it was impractical, but then my wife decided that it would be awesome to buy a travel trailer. I used it as a reason to buy something a little more capable than my Trail and am not looking back.

I have a pretty extensive list of mods in mind and actually did my first tonight (TRD Pro Grill). Anyway, I'll be relying on all of you pretty heavily to guide me through some of the decisions because you've definitely been there and done that.

Glad to be part of the community. Here's my ride the day I picked her up ... so much potential (which means my wallet is going to be empty).

Very nice truck... Go to RV Forum for advice on what you can pull with a 1/2 ton. Post the question. Towing capacity is not the concern. How much weight your travel trailer puts on your truck hitch (pin weight) is what you need to watch. Don't overload your cargo capacity or you will risk an unsafe ride. At the least, you will wear out your tires, shocks, etc. Do your homework before you buy the RV. Never trust an RV salesman. Good luck!

Very nice truck. Congrats on your new purchase. Post a picture when you install that TRD Pro grill. I have the same color Tundra and I want to see how it looks on your truck.

Great advice @MicahTX! We're considering a 20-24' Ultralight Expandable so I'm hopeful that we'll keep things reasonable. And yeah, you're right about the cargo capacity ... that's the whole reason why I decided to give up the 4Runner. I probably could have towed what we were considering but I'm not sure how close we would have been to the max. That's no good. Oh yeah, what's up with RV sales people? They do seem a bit "different" (not judging just sharing my experience so far).

Welcome from Colorado and nice looking truck. Bring your wallet, second mortgage, soul and first born to pay for the mods you'll want to do after looking thru this site.

Welcome Dave. I like the older style wheels. First thing ya gotta do buy some nice scissors and cut up your credit cards. That'll give your funds a chance to recover before your next mod... Kidding of course.

@COMiamiFan and @16tunterd thanks for the warm welcome. The one thing that I see as a consistent about this community is how it makes it very easy to throw money at so many great projects. I'm hoping to resist the temptation but I think most others were as well.

Regardless, we'll have fun while we can or until reality gives us a kick in the butt.

Ha! Usually it's the wife that gives me the kick in the butt. I've spent more on this truck than I've ever had on any vehicle.

Welcome! My wife has a 4Runner and I had a Tacoma. We decided also we want to get a travel trailer so, just like you, upgraded to a Tundra. And there is no way you're getting me back in a Tacoma!!

The 4Runner's are OK for towing but with anything more than a pop-up they are easy to over load. Not just the TT but kids, gear, firewood, etc. you quickly run out of space and capacity.

Loved our 33' Passport TT, but too much for our 1/2 ton Tundra when driving on the interstate. Hats off to those who have had success with theirs.
