Try an eraser wheel maybe. Possibly roll off with your thumb. Most likely need to do a little polish once done then wax

 

I installed the Matt Gecko bedlight kit. Really good instructions and took my time.

 

Roll it off with your thumb. Glass cleaner or wd40 will soften the adhesive as well. You will still have to work at it but it will come off and then you can wash and wax the area.

 

FWIW, I bought a nice red / orange / yellow badge on eBay for half that price.

Just ordered mine, hope to install them this weekend.
Did a camping trip two weekends ago. It rained pretty much the whole time so I had to keep the tonneau closed, I could have really used those lights. Won't make that mistake again.

Got this piece from CN Designs. Fit is super clean and the OEM style switches snap right in. Gonna start molding everything together tomorrow.

 

Okay, I had this thought while driving today of putting two buttons on the thumb area of my shifter. I currently have the trd pro shifter. One switch would be a 3 position switch hooked up to my ‘Runnin 4 tacos’ front And rear anytime camera I just got. And the second would be just a clicker type and I would wire the tow/haul there as well. I couldn’t come up with a solution of running wire up the shaft of the shifter. This, my friend, solves that problem. Have you done a write up on exactly what boot and shifter handle you used? Or maybe throw some quick links? I’d like to get one to practice and mod on and see if it can even be done.

 

I'll let Jim speak for what he has, but I think several people have used the boots and shifters off of the Pro Tacos.

 

@TundraPHX I'm going to second what Adam said. But again, I'll defer to Jim since he did the mod. Bit a few people have put Taco shifters with the boots on their Tundra.

Very simple.
Get a Tacoma TRD shifter
Boot from Ebay
Pull silver trim off
Remove original handle
Slip boot on, tuck in
Clip silver trim back
Screw on new handle
