Sorry if this has been asked before, but yes I did a google search and never found an answer. In the manual they say to remove the coil over to adjust preload. Can the aluma series be adjusted without going through the trouble of removing them from the truck? The truck will be going to the shop tomorrow for new tires and alignment, and though now would be a good time to crank them back up to level after the initial settling.

You do not need to do that. Jack up the truck so the wheel is fool droop. loosen set screw (not too much). Apply WD-40 to adjustment threads. Rotate collar. Tighten set screw. Lower truck. Drive back and forth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKUUmbhUrpg

The point of removing them is to let the coilover fully extend and get as much force off the spring (ie full extension) as possible to allow the collar easier to spin. There is no reason you can't do it while on the truck, it might just be more of a bitch (especially trying to spin the collar with the shock bucket in the way). If you can though, go for it. I lube up the threads and use a punch or dowel to spin the collar.

3/8 punch from harbor freight is the perfect fit for Fox coilovers and would think the same for yours.

just do not over loosen the set screw or you'll be in trouble cause the collar will jump the threads. Loosen just enough to where you can muscle the collar around.

So one to two turns is what I’ve read. On a related question what size floor jack would I need to lift the front end of the truck up with a 3” lift and 35’s

    Alot of them
What did you have them set at? 1 to 2 turns is quite a bit of lift. The instructions tell you the increment. The Alumas also came with the adjustment tool.

To be more specific, I was talking about one to two turns on the set screen, my bad about that.
