I’m going to trust the engineers looked at the entire system when they realized what temps they would be running without a cooler. Valves, seals, wiring, sensors, metals, glues, plastics, rubbers, composites, corn, rocks, trees, spiders, asphalt, rivets, bolts, nuts, spices, meat, beer, whiskey and whatever other magic goes into the transmission. If they didn’t, they are not doing their job.

We don’t need to change our engine oil every 3,000 miles anymore and look...our motors still last. Wow. Crazy black magic.

And as I’ve mentioned before, you don’t need to tow to see the high temps. I’ve seen 254 (torque converter unlocked) multiple times during regular driving.

I will say this: Toyota has been designing cars and trucks much longer than I’ve been driving them so for what it’s worth they know more than me...

There's already probably some Toyota engineer looking at this thread yelling at his screen saying "We did that like 40 times already!!!"

Somewhere some Toyota engineer is reading this thread and questioning the choices he made in his life that lead to a bunch of dudes on the internet second guessing all of the program changes and test driving of a $40,000 dollar truck. He probably spent weeks of his life pulling a trailer that weighs more than what 95% of buyers will ever pull up and down a damn. Just because some politicians in California decided that refrigerant in cars is bad for the environment.

And now those same dude on the internet are all joking and having a laugh about the chaos and heart break they caused the people who bought a 19-21 tundra, themselves included.

Right, you would think their unparalleled reliability record would have bought some benefit of the doubt for Toyota, but I guess not. As if there are not a ton of other things to bitch about in this world in 2020.

Maybe they’ve decided they want to sell more trucks so they’re taking away some longevity. lol
