I was driving home yesterday, talking with my son over the Bluetooth phone connection, when the head unit froze (cutting off the call), then after a few seconds rebooted. Completely rebooted with the Toyota logo, splash screen warning and everything. Has this happened to anyone else? I have the stock head unit.

Common issue with stock head units when synced with your phone, especially iPhones. You are not alone and unfortunately unpairing the phone is really the only thing you can do.

Mine just prompted to do an entune update while driving in to work this morning. Randomly and requiring my input while driving.

What timing! Mine prompted me to update this evening. We'll see if that fixed things and if it sounds any better.

Something I’ve noticed with the ones at work seem to be ones with tons of contacts. If it still reboots after update, delete the phone then re pair it and don’t allow contacts to transfer and see what happens

Do you have apple AirPods paired in your iPhone Bluetooth?

Deleted the paired AirPods and all should be well again.

Mine asked for an update this morning. Apple has had a few updates in the last couple of weeks - Toyota probably had to catch up to them.

With COVID, I am working from home most days so I am not in my Tundra as often during the week. I'll just have to see how it does moving on from here. I like music but no longer consider myself an audiophile. I listen to a lot of talk radio which doesn't require a high end sound system. But I DO want a reliable system to work. I wasn't considering a head unit upgrade but I will add it to the list if freezing/rebooting becomes a common issue. I just don't want to lose any of the features I currently have.

Do you have Entune installed on phone? If yes, deleting it solved the issues for me. Can’t use the dog shit built in navigation... bummer.

I'll delete it. I'm using the wireless Apple CaprPlay with mine so i just use the Google or Waze maps on mine anyway. I rarely even see the Entunes Nav app.
