VF Tuner 3UR Support - Development Tools

You can purchase vF Tuner which allows you to tune your stock ECU, you or a dyno shop, etc. It only comes with access to the stock tune and allows you to make whatever tune you want.

 

That is disappointing. I would have preferred your tune as you designed the software. Thanks for your reply.

 

vF will come with examples of some kind (unless that has changed)

I don't yet sorry. The current focus is get all current ECUs patched, bug free and done before focusing on vF Tuner for older ECUs.

@OVTune I have a 2013 5.7, Im patiently waiting for your tune..question is if I install a supercharger will you have a tune pack for it? Or will it have to be tuned through the VF software?

 

At the moment I don't want to make any promises. We will figure everything out on what we can offer after we finalize these last bits of files.

Mat, I received my files (thanks), but I had only asked for Direct Shift and not Gear Lock. Is that possible on my 2018?

Also, can I ask why it's a .vft file instead of the older .p5f?

I will remake them as P5F for you.

I have to go back through and change the code again to disable gearlock, I'd prefer not to though.

 

I do have VFT, just used to flashing the old way I guess.

When you sent the email back on July 31st, you explained to us what gear lock and direct shift was, and asked us if we wanted both or one or the other. I responded back that I only wanted direct shift and not gear lock.

If it isn't possible, or you don't have the time to fix it, then so be it. Just wondering why you'd ask, and then not be able to deliver on that request.

 

Ok give me an hour I'll make a DS only version.

 

Please don't prioritize me, I was just asking. I know you're busy, and have things on your plate. If you need to do everyone else's, and get back to me next week, then it's no big deal. Just figured I'd ask.

Flashing is basically the same with vft. You just use a newer flashing utility, but it looks the same and process is identical.

Gearlock question. Driving down the road, shift into S4, drive along some more, come to a stop still in S4, take off and trans wont shift out of 1st.
I can post a video later. Is this proper behavior? Thank you.

 

I'm going to make a speculative guess as to what may be happening until Mat has the time to chime in. You're driving around in S4 and locked in 4th gear. Then you slow down to a speed that's to low for 4th, so to prevent the engine from stalling the transmission will shift to 3rd, now you're locked to 3rd because you're still in the "S-range" (for a lack of a better term). The display doesn't change because the shift lever wasn't moved. I'm speculating that theses series of events continue to occur as the vehicle continues to slow to a stop and then shifts to 1st gear. Now because there's GL and the transmission is in 1st, you're stuck there until you move the lever as you accelerate regardless of what's shown in the dash.

I wonder what happens when you accelerate in 1st then move the lever toward "+". Would it lock to 2nd and what would the dash indicator display?
What would happen if you accelerate in 1st but instead move the lever toward "-". What would the dash indicate?

Some model year TCUs may be responding to Mat's code changes differently as Toyota's code seems to be an evolution over time and model years.
