Does this happen each year about the same time? Do you know already if next year this will be occurring?

I want to say I saw a calendar of what weekend it occurs on every year, but @KevinK would be able to let you know for sure.

Krezz, I think they give a prize to the person who drives the furthest. I'm pretty sure that would be you, unless someone comes from Russia.

I won't make any Russian jokes... to easy right now LoL.

That being said, the plan would be since this year I can't go as my time off for the entire summer has been booked, I would use my time next year around this event.
The wife is already on board and we'd pull the kids out of school and bring along our dogs.

I'd also try to get other Canadians involved and like convoy our way down and camp somewhere along the route there.
I'd totally love to attend and I plan on one of these summers to visit there anyway, so why not tie it along with this.

Tundra and Sun and good times!

It's been answered several times on this thread. Yes.

Choose your trail. Harder the run, harder it is for 2wd.

I have not been to Sedona in a 2wd yet, but as mentioned, there are a lot of 2wd friendly areas and trails.

    Awesome!

Yeah, so, my idea of 2wd friendly for this little Sycamore Creek run was based on the way Sycamore looks every other day of the year EXCEPT WHEN IT'S FLOODED ALL TO HELL AND BACK.

We did have a blast pulling the 2wd trucks out. I think I got 5 pulls under my belt that night!

yeah, this is our third year, and every year I've put the date to a vote on "another Tundra forum" but will certainly include this lovely group in next year's vote. We have been within a couple weeks of this date though and I don't foresee that changing.

Heck yeah! Our "Farthest Drive" winner the past two years has been the same guy driving out from Texas.

LoL, shit I'd crush his record then :benchpress:

When does the vote on the date usually occur?
I realize this is still a YEAR away, so I don't expect much. Usually I can book my time off a couple months ahead. I'll just need to keep April open if it always occurs in the month?

yeah Sedona and the whole surrounding area is definitely 2wd friendly - I will add one caveat.

There is one trail in Sedona that I will ask 2wd not do, and that is Broken Arrow. I've had 2wd on that trail before and a 2wd CAN make it, but not without causing some trail damage which puts access for everyone at risk. If you want to see that trail, buddy up with a 4wd friend and hop in their passenger seat - there will be plenty of those runnin' empty. ;)

I usually start planning in October/November of the year before, so like six months before the actual event.

Krezz, nothing you can do for this year, eh?

You're vacationing has to be planned out that far in advance? That sucks for you, especially if your wife and child(ren) wanted to go with. Like you said, "Next year".

Yeah, because of my sales schedule I have all my summer dates already assigned so other jerks around here can't pick the dates I need LoL.
I have camping dates already assigned for April, 8th weekend and my week long is booked in July this year because we're taking the kiddos to Disney.

With the drive time required to reach Sedona, I'd need to put a 7-10 aside for it. Which I want to do, but can't now this year.
When the post came out here about this I already had everything booked up.

I got a weekend off work each month from April - September already lined up, and having a weekend off that often in Sales is tough to come by, so I keep my nose down, sell them their units and then work the system when I can.

Sales huh? I was in sales when I worked, before I was permanently disabled. I love my job. I never had to plan anything out like you do though. I just had to make up whatever I missed when I got back from holiday.

Can I ask, what do you sell?

I sold, get this, office supplies, furniture , and office technology. I sold direct business to business. Some of my accounts I had opened were the Venetian Hotel among others, law firms, and any other office buildings with 150 or more employees own them. Awesome job it was. Wasn't even like working. Hopefully your sales job is like that.

@Kevin, can you give us any idea(s) as to which vendors are going to be there? If I make a purchase maybe they'll bring my merchandise with them instead of shipping.

They definitely do that. All those vendors listed in the video are confirmed sponsors and I'm talking to a few more.

awesome! Yeah, Sedona is amazeballs. Of all the places we go, Sedona is the most relaxing and rejuvenating - even with the shenanigans. ;)
