    Hi folks,
I just purchased a 2012 Tundra with the 4.6 and towing package for my carpentry business. What an improvement over my 09 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x. The Pro-4x had every gadget Nissan makes and was a great truck but simply undersized. I'm in Maine so finding a low rust used Tundra is hard. That's how I ended up with the Nissan 4 years ago; all the Tundras were too far gone and the Nissans weren't. But this one look good enough.

I got it two weeks ago and just installed heated seats thanks to this forum. I've got some questions so here goes.

Wheels: I've got the factory steel wheels and they are starting to rust. My Alloy wheels in my Nissan corroded too on our salty roads, plus I live on the coast. So the question is, can I paint the steel wheels and have the paint stick and if so how? Or do I find some alloys and will they corrode too? Any advice appreciated. At the moment I'm just figuring that wheels will look like crap after a while.

Lights: My truck has lights in the bumper. They are white and seem like fog lights but since they are white, I don't get it. I thought fog lights were supposed to be amber. Is there an easy way to switch them to amber. It's pretty foggy here on the coast so I may as well have something that works.

Finally, my username is minivanman because I've owned three Siennas over the years. Great vehicles and i'm hoping my tundra is the same. The last Sienna was converted to a camper and really was a relationship lifesaver. I'm looking to get/make a slide in for my Tundra to help with that. I've got a System One rack now for work but it can unbolt. Or maybe a tow behind. Any thoughts/ experience with that sort of thing is appreciated too.

    Welcome from NY.

You can scuff the steel wheels up and prime and paint them or you can Plastidip them.
Yes you can change the bulbs. Fog lights are usually yellow or amber and driving lights are white. Yes they can be changed. www.vleds.com

Jim got you covered, so I'll just say "Welcome from Wyoming." To help with the rust and corrosion up there you should look into Fluid Film or something similar.

Oh yeah. Fluid film is the only way to have a car last long enough to pay it off up here. Between salty ocean air and long salty winters, it's kind of ridiculous!
