I don’t have an AK yet but I do have some other toys



Here’s my Vector 45.

My Rigid Industries Radiance lightbar has a backlit option that is street legal. But most can’t be run anywhere except off-road.

 

With 2019 Platinum OEM LED lights on (along with brights):



And with 40” Rigid Industries Radiance lightbar in bumper. (Cheaper lightbar options won’t be this good)

What light bar is that and did you need any brackets to mount it?

 

It was a 50 dollar light bar from Amazon. I used the brackets that came with it. Super easy to install. The grill needs to be removed.

 

Aside from Federal motor vehicle safety standards, "street legal" is a matter of state law and it can vary. Check your particular state laws and be careful in other states. For example, Utah has some light limits on alternate flashing lights, rotating lights, and red and blue lights (emergency and law enforcement only). In addition light bars in Utah have limits, because a light "which projects a beam of light of an intensity greater than 300 candlepower, shall be directed so that no part of the high intensity portion of the beam will strike the level of the roadway on which the vehicle stands at a distance of more than 75 feet from the vehicle." There is also a limit on the number of lights in Utah. "A motor vehicle on a highway may not have more than a total of four lamps lighted on the front of the vehicle including head lamps, auxiliary lamps, spot lamps, or any other lamp if the lamp projects a beam of an intensity greater than 300 candlepower."
I have two 12" Diode Dynamics light bars behind my grille. Each one is 2800 lumens (223 candlepower) in order to be below the 300 candlepower restriction - although I do not drive streets with the light bars on.



These provide lots of light but I still comply with the applicable laws.

 

What mounts did you use?

 

I have an ADD Stealth Fighter bumper with mounts in place

 

Recently put the 40" on the RZR

 

What type of bull bar or bumper is that?

I see it but it is a ghost and to me it looks like a ghost of a Christmas tree.

Nice what bumper is that?

 

42" in grille and 30 in bumper. Inexpensive ones. I could not justify big $$s on something I only use a few times a year.

 

41 inch in the hood and bumper.

Diode Dynamics Tundra stealth 30" light bar controlled by switchpros. Wanted to keep it pretty OEM looking, and it puts out a ton of light. Might eventually do DD fogs as well.
