Hey I just found this thread and I have the TRD replacement system with dual 5x15" and resonators and the TRD tailpipes. Mine is not what I would consider loud, but real healthy sounding. From idle to about 3200-3500 it ripped, then it drops of significantly after that... SC whine takes over but there is only the lower rpm band at which it growls. It is NOT loud, but it does perform, so I was happy getting the important part of the science = the power! If I get on it, it rips but if it was a little louder, I would draw too much attention. I just wish it cracked through the upper rpms like the factory TRD system does. However, the TRD system really only makes its power in the upper range. The DD TRD puts the power to the more useable range and restores the torque loss common with duals. I think cutting the resonators off is only going to add in cab noise, not make it any "louder". The resonators are a frequency tuned noise cancelling system that essentially is only effective at cruising speed NOT acceleration. During acceleration, the truck will pass over the cruising speed rpm/frequency and keep going up. Removing them will not change the truck's audible acceleration noise, only create in-cab aggravation. But if you like to hear your eardrums sweat to the sound of drone, cut em'up.

Thanks for your input. It's getting a little better with more miles I put on it, seems to be getting a little deeper sounding the more miles I put on it. For now I am going to keep it as-is.

Sorry for the delay. and I apologize for your truck not being as loud as you’d wanted. But this is a super easy thing to correct.

We offer a lifetime warranty. This warranty literally covers everything:

if it breaks due to bad workmanship (won’t happen). If you break it off reading or in an accident. If it rots due to rust (stainless only). Or, sound. Too loud or too quiet. We will make a brand new system that is louder or quieter, for free.

no other exhaust manufacturer has the above warranties.

that said, as said in previous posts, have a buddy drive your truck aggressive while you follow. You’ll be really surprised how Aggressive your truck actually sounds.

I’ve designed the system specifically to keep the sound outside the truck and not come inside the truck. The resonance frequency of the exhaust is opposite of the resonance frequency of the truck.

However, we have several options that will make it louder than what you currently have. Definitely give a call to hash out details and get your new system on our schedule.
