It's been a minute since I've done mold removal, but make sure they have full containment and they are bagging everything in at least 4 mil bags. Any level of mold typically required full PPE and containment. They should have a negative air system setup vented through a HEPA filter. From the small bits I can make out from the images they did a mildly decent job at sealing everything.

PS, they fubared that corner molding in the last image.

I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse and I'm glad they are following all regulations. I hope they do it right the first time so the repairs can begin! Living without a kitchen is never any fun.

My RecTeq grill came yesterday. Put it together, smoked some dino ribs today and built some ramps for storing it up on the side porch when I'm not using it. I had the idea to put some guards on the sides so it doesn't roll off and land on me after I rattle-canned them... Anyways, the smoker is awesome, the ribs were incredible, and the grill didn't fall on me and kill me when I pushed it up to the porch. It was just a winning kind of day. (Yes, I need to throw out the dead hanging plant)IMG_1683.jpgIMG_1694.jpgIMG_1701.jpgIMG_1702.jpgIMG_1705.jpg

Well something wasn't underneath it but something definitely wanted under it. I was out back today just to check on the mouse trap inside (empty:)) and checked behind it. Some of the bricks behind it (brown wall side) had been moved. About 5 of them. The cinder block wall side had a lot of dirt dug up and about an inch and a half gap under the bricks and the dirt, so something could have gotten in. But anything big enough to move brick would be too big to get through that small a gap. I put the dirt back and moved more bricks to cover the dirt. I'm thinking raccoon. Maybe an opossum.

Changes out our attic lights to some LED ones I've seen advertised and found on Amazon. Simple screw in to the existing socked like a standard light bulb, but 3 panels of LED's each.
Also built the girls their trampoline since the storm took out their other toys. Also made sure and anchored the trampoline down since we have some fairly consistent winds out here with a lack of trees to block any.
Links for lights and anchors. Pretty happy with them!

That has to be really tough on the lawn mower.

Very much enjoying my new house with no grass to mow in the front yard. Just some decorative grass that will get cut down before snowfall.

That really looks good. Does it become a creek when it rains? Is the house on a hill or something?

It does get pretty wet in there. The gutters on both sides go into a tube underground that lets out in the rock area somewhere

Finally got to build the petite deck in the carport so I dont have to climb a ladder to get into the house anymore. Trex being delivered today but the dang screws arent coming til next week. I shifted it back 8” from the original and shortened the treads down to code from 12” so the truck now fits in the carport without the snoot hanging out.

Question, I have a 25+ year old refrigerator on my screen porch for beer and overflow. The freezer gasket is leaking, making the freezer look like the ice caves of Hoth. I ordered a new one in August that was delayed three times. Canceled that order and ordered from another place that said it's in stock. I got an email today that said it's backordered.
I'm thinking about jury rigging something by maybe adding a weather strip on the current gasket or replacing it with some kind of weather strip or seal. Has anyone done this?
Mechanically it's in great shape. Temperatures are fine, but with the humidity there's frost on my ice cream and popsicles.

I'd give it a shot. Amazon has some universal gasket and I bet your local Ace Hardware might have something too. What do you have to lose with a 25 year old fridge?

That's a great idea. I was thinking Macgyver, but universal gasket is probably a better idea.

Working on redoing the fence/gate on the side of the house where I park the camper. Planning on using a 10’ field gate and facing with wood pickets to match the rest of the fence. Put a 8” x 8’ pole 3 feet in the ground with 600lbs of concrete......if that don’t hold the gate nothing will. Will post additional photos once I get it completed probably early next week.

I had an old chest freezer that was given to me that the gasket had wore out. Went to the hardware store and got some flexible blue translucent plastic piping. Took the old gasket off and with small screws drilled tru the plastic to hold it down. worked great for many years until the compressor went out. Looked pretty good.
