New member here from Tacoma world

I too traded in a Taco (2019) for my Tundra (2020) and couldn't be happier!
For me it was towing a camper that pushed me up to the big league, but I LOVE my Tundra.

 

Honestly....Tacoma world might be worse...JL Wrangler forum is the devil...I might save money here

Same here. I sized a camper where the taco could pull it, but wanted something bigger. The Tundra handles our small RV perfectly. Don't even realize it's back there sometimes. With the Tacoma you always knew it was there.

 

I just traded my Tacoma as well. I had a 2017 Sport that I bought in the summer. Previous vehicle was an 06 4Runner with the 4.7 that I loved, but racked up 200k on it, so it was time to upgrade. The Tacoma was a great truck, but in the end, I didn’t put enough thought into getting a midsize truck with 2 kids and a wife. Plus I missed the V8!

 

Another one here. Tacoma got a bit too small for us a bit too soon.

 

Welcome...Me Too! I had an '07 Tundra and loved it...sold it for $300 less than what I paid after 9 years. Then bought a Tacoma and enjoyed it except for the lack of power (compared to the 5.7), and the sorry transmission that it had. Just traded it in and got $3,000 less than I paid after three years...Yup, Toyota trade-in values rock! Now I'm back with a 2020 Tundra TRD PRO Crew cab and like it even more than my old '07 RCSB.

 

That’s awesome. I got 1000 less than what I paid for my Tacoma on trade after 2 years. Hopefully the tundras will have great resale/trade value too

 

Right. I sold my 04 tundra for $500 more than I paid and drove it for 4 yrs. sold my 13’ Tacoma for $3000 more than I paid. Never had a vehicle that went up in value haha. Going to be honest though I miss my 04 and almost like it more than my 14’ tundra. But it’s nice having something fairly new to me.

 

I was on the Tacoma world form a lot when the 2016s came out . Sold my 16 taco for 23k less than I had into it in mods etc. if I had not done all the mods I would have lost 6k in 2 years 20k miles.

I put about 10k in Mods into my Tundra so far. The V8 and space are nice. I miss the taco being easier to park. But the 6.5 bed tundra is more useful for my job than the 6’ bed taco. They both get the same gas millage after modding both. I do not miss the Taco transmission, one day it pissed me off so bad I made the mistake of trading it on a new Raptor

I'm seeing some trends here...add me to the list of former Tacoma owners. I may be the minority here but never really liked my 3rd gen Taco. Size-wise it was ideal for me but performance-wise ugh! the under powered 6-cyl and that transmission always hunting and shifting to the wrong gear, at the wrong time...the final straw for me was the 18mpg and that was with the factory hiway tires and no lift?!?!

Tundra now, night and day difference and I simply love everything about it.

 

Every time I see a post like this, I remember the day that I finally got to bring home my 2018 CM. I had been wanting a 3rd gen since I first saw the 2014's. It's truly exciting. It's been almost two years and it might sound corny, but I still get excited when I walk outside, see my rig, climb up into it an start it.

The constant shifting and revving from my taco is how i ended up here too. Loved everything else about it tho....overall i definitely like the tundra better

 

Went from my ‘08 Tundra SR5 TRD 4x4 to a 2020 Tacoma Limited then back to my 2021 Tundra Sport Premium. Like some of you guys it was the towing experience that brought us back to the Tundra, we’ll never go back to the Tacoma unless it’s only used for groceries and light driving.

I drove my 2006 Tacoma for 14 years and 239k miles and just traded it in on a 2020 Tundra DC. I can't say that I was miserable driving it, but I definitely won't miss playing Tetris to get everything in it for family trips. Can't wait for the next camping trip!

 

I’m with you man! We could fit more stuff in our Honda CRV than the Tacoma Don’t get me wrong we loved the Tacoma and it was a nice little truck but let’s face it the Tundra is the way to go when towing a camper
