If that doesn’t work, bring those spindles to @papasmurf ’s driveway. Probably be 2 or 3 of trucks of each gen :boink: parked all around the place, for us to compare and figure it out. :D

    Question:

Working on my buddies 1st gen, he launched a jump and now his passenger side window won’t roll up.

Power is going to the window switch when he pulls up or down from the drivers side switch.

When I unplug the motor no power is going to it through the wiring to the motor.

    1. is the window switch wiring which is getting power.

    2. is the wiring to the motor (I think) and it’s not getting power.

    Edit:
One call to @papasmurf fixed it. His voice alone solved the problem and whipped the tundy back into shape haha. Thanks Bruce!

And for the spindle question does 24R6 or 23L5 sound correct to either year range?

I checked the pitcs of my gusseted spindles and the numbers were different. Not sure if these specify the year - they look more like a manufacturing stamp.

I pulled out my stock '16 spindles and took a couple measurements. 2016 and up have a larger bolt for the brake calipers and the diameter on my stock '16s is ~15mm. The distance from the 2 brake caliper bolt holes (center to center) is ~7.5".

    Hope this helps.

    Good looking truck!
    Damn those augmentations, tho-.

I loved how Hulk looked with wide shoulders and narrow hips (haha! Girls notice.), but now that he has wide fenders and bedsides, there’s waaaaay too much white. Ugh! I gotta upgrade the cooling system and get “real” bumpstops (next on the list) just so I can move on to paint or wrap! :angrygirl:

This is a huge help! I’ll send the specs his way so he can measure his spindles and get down to what’s what.

    Thanks guys!

@SIXSEVENONE ill tag you once more once I know what they fit

His truck has wide corners but it’s SOA and mid travel lol.

He also has to battle some cooling issues, and needs bumps, the mod list is never ending haha.

    Alright got the info:

    caliper mounting holes are 14.5mm

    hole to hole is 7.5”
(Looks like 8.5”, but the center starts at the 1” mark)
    29AC31FF-280A-49CC-8648-F580598BFFE2.jpg 8AB817B9-F952-46CB-9E15-D669910909FF.jpg E39F95E1-3CFB-44B6-8999-FE351718E0D3.jpg

I’m under the impression these are the 2016+ Spindles based off the info and measurements.

A few holes weren’t drilled right, that was a massive pain in the ass. Otherwise it’s been “fun” playing with this adult jigsaw lego set.

Not finished yet. Not even done tacking. There are A LOT of pieces.

Alright Tundra fam, I’ve got the itch...and it isn’t going away. I want a 1st gen Tundra. :D

Headed out to the desert this weekend, then when I get back start cleaning, waxing, buffing and putting some major elbow grease into getting my taco sold.

Then I’ll be on the hunt for an 05-06 4.7L double cab 4x4 limited.

Proving to myself I made the right choice with a taco?:anonymous:

Idk. But timing should be good, used 2nd gen market is high right now, and with all the best “overland” fixings I have my fingers crossed it’ll go quick and for a premium to leave enough to jump straight into long travel lol

    Hahaha!

Hopefully a comfy chair with a cooler full of ice cold beer as you supervise.

Idk how far down the list I can go but current dream plans include:
    Front:
    BTF long travel
    King coilovers
    Super bumps
    Limit straps
    All the gussets

    Rear:
    Deaver C27-HD
    Mcm shackles
2.5x16 king double or triple bypass
Simple “space saver” bed cage/shock mounts.
^ this I will definitely be asking for your help and guidance, but happy to do the work.
Not sure yet on super bumps or some sort of hydro bump.
    Limit straps.
Probably some sort of cross brace. I have yet to see any 1st gen frame plate kits, and with a grinder cutting wheel it’ll take about a year to cardboard mock and cut all the pieces to DIY.

    Skid row skids
Haven’t decided on sliders yet, not totally thrilled with the options available.

    Hanneman glass is current favorite.

I’ll cut the front bumper and make some sort of screen to aid in radiator protection for the time being. Front bumper might take time to save up for.
Rear bumper will likely have to stay stock until I can save up for tube or plate or something.

Hard mount HAM. - this will be early on so I’m not limited to my cheap handheld.

16 or 17” wheels with 35” all terrains. This is really just whatever deal I can find.
4.88 gears with a rear locker.
(took a while, but figured out Nitro offers front gears for the 8” diff on the 05-06 models).

I’ll need to get my head under @Sunnier ’s truck and see where she’s stuffing into the bed because I’ll need to accommodate for that, but idk how different it’ll be with about 2.00” of wheel spacer to aid in clearing the shocks.

This is my current thought process. Certainly subject to change, and accepting of input.
