Hey y’all, so got an Apple Watch for a present. But as an older dude, working with my hands, I can’t think of what kinda things I’d do with it. Lol. The kinda watch I usually rock are g-shocks. I’m wondering what type of things y’all do with your watch that you could recommend to me so I can get the best use of it.
Hobbies I do are: shooting sports, bbq /smoking, and road tripping. I appreciate any feedback!

I use mine mainly for the fitness side to track activity, workouts, etc. the other uses for me are for text messages and weather info ( temperature and such). You can also manage your music streaming apps if use them.

my wife also does some email thru hers but that’s a bit to cumbersome for me.

I used to never wear a watch but I have to admit I’ve really enjoyed mine.

Unless you like having a second cell phone attached to your wrist... they are somewhat useless. I’m young, work in tech, and still couldn’t love it. Back to just using a plain old watch. If anything I find having the wrist cell phone to be distracting. Just my opinion

We love ours. I use it to change music on it opposed to my phone or earbuds. Read / reply to texts
    Also maps when driving helps

I am Old and work in Tech and can not live without mine.
I NEVER let my phone ring and if not for the sense of mild electrocution on my wrist would not know when I get or miss a call or text.
I literally can not feel the phone vibrate but the watch is easy to feel.

I also think it is a lot less distracting and rude to look at the watch when this happens than to get the phone out and signal to those I am talking to that there might be someone more important than them calling me right now so pardon me while I determine this.
I have become pretty good at glancing at my wrist instead and can even read texts from the watch as they come in instead of missing them altogether or having to pull my phone out to screen them.

Everything else is just too fiddly to me but I am still always considering additional ways to use the watch as long as they give me more than they require to implement.
So far though the less missed alerts the better overwhelmingly in my life!

I mainly use my for running. I have a Samsung version however, but I can connect my earbuds to it and stream Spotify to them and leave the phone at the house. Lots of useful features I'm sure apple has too, like being downtown and having turn by turn directions on the place your going on your wrist (walking of course) .. and also handy to set a location where you park and it'll lead you back from wherever you end up that night. Also the find my phone feature is handy
