What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Thanks to @Famof5Tundy for the how to on painting the console trim pieces. Shift gate, shift knob, shifter trim ring, and cup holder trim done this weekend. I ran out of paint, but have more on the way. Steering wheel trim to come.

 

Yeah, as Holden said. I'd hadn't downloaded the app on my phone before but did I did this morning. It takes a bit so I was just chilling in the truck listening to the radio while searching on here. All of a sudden the song just sounded different, look up and the install was complete. The sound seems more rounded and crisper.

Two days of heavy rain finally cleared the air. My OCD was bad enough I was getting myself pumped up to wash the truck in the rain this morning, but thankfully the storms passed while I was making breakfast...


Then I switched to winter prep mode since we appear to have departed the summer temps. Removed the camping gear from the truck box, took out the Rago racks that hold a shovel and fire extinguisher and rinsed the last of all the dust, grime, dirt and pine needles out of the bed. Ready for maple leaves and helicopter seeds now. Will load up the winter gear in a few weeks...still need to do a gear inspection.

Let's talk about cargo nets for a minute. I've been using the Gladiator net all summer and it rocks. Turned sideways, it fits the bed perfectly aft of my truck box. The straps are long enough to reach the bed loops under the truck box and keep the entire net centered perfectly over the open portion of the bed. Did a clean up today and it will be added to truck box gear once dry.


While I waited for the truck to dry, I finished a project on my trailer. I've got a set of solar panels and although they have a nice protective cast, I didn't like having a bunch of gear loaded on top of it. Built a shelf out of some scrap wood and rattle-canned it with some Rust-oleum "truck box" spray. Very happy it has a home now...


Once the truck was dry, added the cool-kid decal. If these add 5hp when on the back window, they must improve my mileage by 0.5 MPGs when on the front window right?! I don't like things blocking my line of sight out the back window, plus I feared it might get pulled off and stuck in the rear window mechanism. So on the front it goes. The shaded areas of the windshield are not centered, so getting it in the right in the middle was interesting. Hopefully it's high enough to miss the wipers.

 

What level trim do you have? I've tried this several times and I cannot get the app to recognize my radio correctly. I get an error that says make sure your vehicle is Entune capable. I have the Entune Audio Plus. I downloaded the update from the website. It's from 2017 though. It did make a big difference. Is there a newer one?

 

Rog, I'm getting frustrated with not being able to do the update. ridiculous.

Love those wheels. Always gotta help those GM dudes. Ever notice how one of the running lights is often burned out on GM vehicles. minor problem for them.

 

How recent is this update.. I just checked I don’t see anything more recent from 2017

The plain flat black didn’t do it for me, so I added some accent.
Went with a charcoal gray.




But the top of my day came when my 7 year old daughter said,
“ whoa, those are kewel keys!!”.

 

This trend I don't get. If you want them just to have the album art case I guess I get it, but why would you want to listen to something with worse quality?

I'm curious if this applies to our trucks (also have a 2017) too. Going to go change my startup image so I'll see if it does anything. I've had the entune app since I bought the truck and don't remember any update recently (or even within the past couple years...). I'll see if I have the app open with the truck running if it initiates something.

 

I can't even create an account to login to the app.

 

Mine updated, it needed to have the app open on my phone, then just went into the apps menu and the update notification came up. I'll have to see tomorrow if I can notice if it sounds any better.

Does it error out on you or something? The app itself is kind of useless imo, I guess besides for doing updates. I'm still mad they took out Pandora as an in-truck supported app...

I was able to do mine with a USB drive.

 

Search for it on the Google or Apple app store. There's two. Don't download the Entune 3.0. That's for the newer trucks.

Hmmm. When you go into the apps page on your head unit, does it say anything about entune? I had a message that said I need the app to install other entune apps on the head unit or something like that. Wonder if it needs to initialize something on the truck side. Just thinking out loud here.

 

I'll have to check. I don't remember right now. My truck has the Scout GPS nav option but it wasn't enabled when I bought the truck used. I enabled it since.

 

I couldn't find anything on the truck, but I received a manual for Entune and the multimedia when I bought the truck in '18.
