Thank you everyone. Its been a good first day...already looking at another mod and standing by for a Baja Designs or Dirty Deeds "Tax Time" group buy or discount.

HAHA not till i do that garage door mod lol.

 

I used to work 60 hrs a week, plus i had an idea that once i joined the mods i wanted to do would some how start to get done. Ps When were you on New River? I was in J vegas from 10-13.

1981. MATCS Squadron-28. Air Traffic Control Expeditionary Unit. In theory we could load up "everything " on a few C-130's and be set up anywhere on the planet and provide Air Control with in 24 hrs. (Yeah right). I was a calibration PMEL tech, but for some weird reason I got assigned to that unit. Got a second MOS in repair. 6492/6493. Was repairing all the RF/Microwave/Avionics test sets that got fuc*ed up. Went back to MCAS Iwakuni in 82 for three more years..

 

I bet nothing changed there in the time from when you were there to when I was. haha on base anyway.

 

Our unit also provided air control for New River. My room mate was an air controller. We had a "few" brews off base one night. Taxi dropped us off by the main gate. There was a 7-11 across from the gate at the time. I forgot "his" name now but I clearly remember what he did. Piss assed drunk...a cop car was parked out front. Cops were inside getting "snacks". He decided to try to remove the lights mounted on the patrol car. Cops saw what "He" was doing. I came to the rescue and didn't really have to explain much. Everything was self evident. Cops put us into the car and drove up to the gate and let us out after a "stern" warning.
