They do but I dont partake. I wont go into a lot of detail since I am sure the post would violate site rules, but when you lose everything in a 401k that was supposed to be safe and at low risk, previous employer, you dont have a lot of trust in them or those who manage them, thats all I have to say on that matter publicly.

Cash it out. Take advantage of your HD employee discount and get a decent sized shed that HD sells, get a couple more eggs, and start selling bbq ribs, briskets, pulled sandwiches in front of your place....
......or do a bucket lister once in a lifetime thing>>>10 weeks in Alaska......just sayin....:fistbump:

Sadly I do not get a employee discount, we never have.

I was actually thinking about a trip to North Pole AK. at one time.

Go to AK next late spring/early fall. Buy an outfitted salmon fly rod/reel. Catch late run salmon. Buy a big ass brush rifle, pay for licenses and bag a Yukon moose and a brownie bear. Eat big ass moose steaks, smoked salmon, and you'll have a nice bear rug. Donate the meat you don't need to one of the native villages, meet one of the super hot native girls in the village, get married and live happily ever after in bbq/smoking bliss....

Depending on how many years you work with my company you are only allowed so many PTO hours to roll over the following year. In my case...120 hrs I think. I have 93 hrs left plus 10 hrs left of 40 hrs of Covid time left that the company gave to us. We can't cash out. I've been taking 3 or 4 day weekends lately. It's hard for me to take any serious time off especially with my grandson back in school starting the 28th. Fun times indeed.
Rich....cash out some of it, maybe add some to your 401K. You can never have too many bbq's either. Another egg for sure. Take a trip out here?

I would go heavy on the 401k contribution and leave a couple weeks for you to vacation as you see fit. Maybe you can finally get your ass up to CO.

Nice, good stuff. I've been thinking about a LCP for a pocket carry to go with my normal P89 open carry (AZ is a constitutional carry state, open or concealed no permit needed), but with the Covid shit they are hard to find and not exactly on sale.

If it were me personally, in a "normal" year I would take the time because I make plenty of money but don't really get enough time off to do all the trips/ camping/ vacationing/ etc. that I want to in a given year. But it also depends on if you think you'll be able to do much traveling by next year, your family's commitments, your financial situation, etc. Also, is there a chance that Uncle Sam takes so much that you don't really come out ahead if you take the payout?

Option 2 might also be a good balance of both time off next year and paying off some debt or building up some retirement savings.
