I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this problem... I replaced my rear brake lights with Sylvania ZEVO 3157RLED bulbs. The LED bulb only functions in single mode, either the running light or brake light. I can't get both to work, anyone else experienced this problem?

    2017 Tundra, 1794 Ed.

I've tried reinstalling the bulbs, switching polarity, this only switches which function I get. In one position I get only running light, in the other position, I only get brake light.

    Any help is appreciated.

    thanks,
    Abear

Thanks for the response... I think you nailed it, the led bulbs I purchased do not appear to be CK. I didn't know there was a difference to be honest. Thanks for the help, I plan to purchase CK bulbs, I'm sure this will fix my problem...

    thanks,
    Abear....

vLEDs triton are great if you can afford the coin. One of the few led bulbs I have seen that are actually brighter than their holegen counterpart.

The CK types are the switchbacks. The standard glass bulbs have 2 filaments that have a high and low functionality and the LED's need to have the same functionality if not they will not function. I learned this when switching out my front turn lights, and the need of the resistors to prevent hyper flash.

I just received my replacement CK leds from sylvania. I sent them an email on Sunday, they replied on Monday that my replacement leds were being sent out. Amazing customer service, no hassle, wanted no payment and nothing for shipment. I received them today and just finished installing them, they work perfectly... thanks for the advice.

This is incorrect information. CK does not stand for switchbacks. I have CK brake lamp bulbs for my rear and they are not switchbacks.

Now there are CK bulbs that are switchbacks. That's is where you may be confused.

You right, switchbacks are for the turn signals/DRL. Brake lights are different, but still a ck type.

Not all the brake lights are CK's. The high mount on the cab is not CK, it is a 921

    I'll just leave this here

I wax about to pull the trigger on Silvania Zevo 3157 Red LEDs, but now found this thread which point me that Rear Brake lights are 3157-CK.

What Silvania did sent to you? I can't find Silvania Zevo 3157-CK anywhere...
