1st Gen. Lunch Table - General Discussion

I really want to start a rumor that C-19 causes infertility.
Maybe it would help bring them in line? Or would it just encourage the ones that had it to abandon protection ("it's okay baby I had the C").
Imagine if it did cause sterility with 20-somethings acting this way. It could literally cause the (near?) extinction of mankind.

 

One of my favorite "treats" came from a commercial account I hated going to. There is a chimmichanga factory where they make frozen burritos for various companies. I used to jet out the drain lines every 2 weeks, its a 2 man job so I always took somebody and split revenue. The maintenance guy (lets call him Gabe) used to slide us a box of unfrozen ones, about 2 dozen per box. They were pretty damn good before they get frozen.

One day the regular maintenance guy wasn't there and they guy we were dealing with seemed super straight laced. When we were done I got the invoices handled and went out to the truck where my buddy was wrapping up the jetter.

He said "Where's our boxes?" and I frowned immediately.

The worker said "boxes?"

"Yeah, Gabe always gives us a few boxes of burritos when were done, Im hungry"

"Oh, he does?"

It was probably 2 months before Gabe gave me a box again, he was pissed. That straight guy was a senior manager 3 levels higher and considered that stealing.

A lot of the restaurants I would do work for hooked me up with food. Some I loved, others I wouldn't eat because I saw the kitchen, I gave that stuff to homeless people. I really miss that job but its a young man's sport.

One time at a school, my tummy was telling me I should eat, I hadn’t had a terrible school pizza lunch in a long time, so I struck up the courage to ask for one, the stubble lipped lunch lady promptly asked for 2.78$. I was like really? “Yes, really” was her response......I kindly said never mind, I had been there since about 6am and it was now 145ish- time for clean up. I look Burt Reynolds in the eye from across the kitchen as she’s shoveling pans and pans of pizza into the garbage........ the nerve!! So I never asked or accepted anything after that, I even had this one lunch lady, every single day ask me if I wanted something; no I’m ok I’ve got stuff in the van.
Other places like “ChillyRock” keep all their toppings in the walk in cooler/freezer........my tool bag was always full when I left those places!!

 

@Darkness this is one of my favorite PG treats from my current job. There’s one building that we have a “cat list” because some have been let out before because no one knew the resident was a cat! When we do main shut downs at that building with all the rubber/hose clamp fixes; we have to go into EVERY SINGLE ROOM and make sure no one turned on a faucet and left it on......it’s the biggest waste of time, but that’s another one where I’ve seen some weird weird shit, my partner knew about one guy/room and didn’t say anything to me.......I thought he was gonna stab me and throw me in the tub!!!

 

Yeah, I have an old as shit battery that's Toyota branded. I'm pretty sure it's original, unless the previous owner bought a replacement from Toyota. I'm leaning towards a regular battery mainly due to price at this point.

 

Well I guess some of us Older gents can fill the need for the sake of mankind. Just don’t ask me for child support and alimony

 

My experience with batteries is buy it from a large chain store with national reach and not tied to a membership.
Example for good, Autozone
Example for bad, Costco.
You never know where you’ll be years from now and it suddenly takes a shit. Autozone replacement is straight forward. Costco will not honor warranty if your membership is not active

 

Good advice. I bought one at Pepboyz about 5 years ago and when it dumped just after warranty I drove it up on its last legs one winters morning 2 weeks after ‘warranty expiration’. Guy ran the number on the computer and bingo! Because it was Bosch I still get a free replacement as they have the best post warranty around (prorated). Stoked. Free batteries for life.

 

That would basically limit me to paying higher prices for lower quality with bad customer service here in Canada unfortunately.

 

Thank you...I'm a well accomplished you tube mechanic haha. I've made repairs to part in my truck I didn't know existed thanks to you tube. Really just wish I had stronger longer arms. But then I'd look funny so nevermind. Repair went almost smooth. Had to go thru 3 different inner tie rod removal tools because the old one was a slightly different size ball than the new one. And the first tool wouldn't fit either of them. Thank God for rental tools

 

Must try this.. must be filet Mignon to taste just right. Marinate for like 4 hours in good quality italian dressing salt and pepper, barbeque to med rare. The acid in the italian cooks off but the short acid marinade makes it crazy tender. It was my grandfathers recipe. I tried subbing other types of steak and it wasn't good at all so it's not worth trying unless you go all in.

 

Went to Kentucky back woods directly behind house. Started balzing a trail. Rain sent in. Didn't notice for the canopy. Could only hear it. Will need to come back with a bigger saw.


I need a go-pro for undergrowth driving.

I'm finally going to do something with this area. Doesn't really bother me but I don't want it to rust. Those orange stains won't come off.

if you're going to paint it - I'll encourage you to dab on & rinse off Whink Rust Stain remover. Available at grocery chains, Amazon, walmart...
Stuff works great, but it will damage a finish. Then use your paint on the clean surface to prevent rust returning.

I actually worked with Olive Oil for years and my hands had the most radiant glow during this time. I attribute my success to Olive Oil.

 

Try some baking soda and warm water. It probably wont get the stains out but it will neutralize any battery acid residue so you can better prep the surface if you decide to paint. Baking soda and water is also great for cleaning battery terminals and any areas that the acid has affected.

 

Haha when I was a service tech for McDougals, my hands were the same way, so we’re my shoes, my tools, my knees, my arms; most of me had that slippery glow!
