Also why in the book does it not count the last block to be removed?

Can I just leave this one installed it seems to only hold the round plug ??20200912_115403.jpg

That stays. It’s just a plug. The cylinder heads are same left to right. Just backwards. So the plug is where the cam would exit the head if it were on the other side

Well it's over lol thx for the help. It looks fine I got lucky and no rot. Just need to clean it and order Asin water pump kit, and the valve grind kit just need to find place with good price. There is the block, and gasket at the leak. 20200912_151029.jpg 20200912_150931.jpg 20200912_150925.jpg

Ok stone works, clean it then wet stone.

Ran a wet diamond stone over it and now its smooth just not wat I was hoping for.

I'll post a pic tomorrow with it clean for comparison

Well here it is, feels ultra smooth. Feels better than it looks. I think last time this was done the surface was cleaned not that great. 20200913_152938.jpg 20200913_152919.jpg

Any engine machine shop should be able to do it.

You are replacing the valve stem seals on the engine right? Hot tank or solvents will ruin them

Take them to an engine shop, pay them to clean everything and install new seals, you're too deep to cut corners

    Understood

Not much help for you now but in the future these 3M roloc's are perfect for cleaning heads and blocks before stoning them

Hey all waiting for parts to arrive Friday 9-18-20

Has the cyl. Head torque spec. Changed at all ?

My book has do sequence to 25 ft. Lbs. Then (2) rounds of 90°'s then socket head cap to 156 in lbs
    Done.

That still the gospel ? YES ACCORDING TO TOYOTA SERVICE ADVISOR I called lol.

Funny I didn't realize the head bolts were so expensive

Ok I'm gonna jam the 1st few posts of mine with all the info I had to dig and beg for so if u need help ya needn't wade through 4 pages of my insanity. I should have left one or to blank for this but alas have not posted like this in forever.

And I was also in so deep for the 1st time so I made the decision not to get the valve grind kit and went with YotaShop.com's head kit 1022B the valve grind kit didn't come with the fasteners but the 1022B kit did.
    20200923_130103.jpg
I had to draw the line because if I'd had money there were seemingly endless improvements and cleaning.
