New 3/8” Torque Wrench arrived today.

Been anti-torque wrench like I’ve been anti-mask wearing since the WuFlu. Still only know one person that caught the cold and was better in 5 days. Anywuu, the 3/8” Torque will be nice to use. I dusted off my 1/2” Torque and did the wheel lugs yesterday. Couple were out of spec! I’m a believer!!!

Brake pedal was feeling real nice until today.

Pulled off on my way home to take a nap. Work left me roasted. Snoozed in the drivers seat for about an hour with the engine running, and AC blowing on low.

Hard brake pedal has returned. :(

Think it just needs to be bled again, or something else going on?

So I decided to order some 1.25” Wheel Spacers from Xxx after overcoming my fear of them. Yes I still a stand by the push up analogy, but the case for me is the safety of the lug nuts. I ordered some extended thread nuts (from others) and the ‘hub’ centric Blue wheel spacers in the size above that come with their own small nuts.

They came in yesterday and I looked at these and said screw this! Sent them back today.

The design is seems precarious. An accident waiting to happen. Instead of installing these, I removed one lug nut from my wheel and took some measurements using my thin file as a prob finder and transposed them to a ruler.

Conclusion: The Rear Drum OEM Lug Nut on the OEM wheel set up has about 1” thread engagement on OEM Starfish Wheels. The OEM Acorn Nut slips down into the wheel lug hole and fills the void. The Xxx Spacer nut only provides 5/8” Thread Engagement AND leaves a void between the nut surface and the drum surface. The void would be 3/8”. Say what?

The ET Nuts I purchased did not slip down into the void (like I hoped similar to the OEM Acorn Lug Nut) which is what I thought they were intended to do until getting them in hand. Seems like the Spacer needs milling about another 1mm circumference so the ET nut shaft will slip down in and create a tight fit.

Back to those provided Xxx Nuts that look like an accident waiting to happen. The 3/8” gap is a lever zone on the Lug Post. Went to the website but they have no ET nuts on offer. I wanted to make sure I had the right ET nuts which were ordered from another company because of this.

The Xxx spacer mating area is chamfered on the backside leaving minimal surface area for OEM hub mating. Not sure how much the spacer hub would mate onto the axle hub like the wheel does (which is full hub mating). Seems these spacer things are designed to wobble at every contact point (hub and lug) even though they are Hub Centric.

Didn’t even try to put these on and sent them back. I’d like to see a spacer with full hub mating thats square and tight with full engagement on the backside (if chamfered then minimally) and for the lug holes where the ET Nuts can slip down into the hole and create tight fitment between spacer and nut similar to the Acorn Nut. Can’t say I didn’t try. :D

Might need to order some custom ones?

Tundra on call. This one was a toilet not flushing, so I assumed the worst and brought the plunger, blonde Betty answers the door, I assume the worst when she looks at me all sheepishly. THANKFULLY it was just a bad flushometer/diaphragm thingy, swapped that out, turned on the water and it was ready for whatever they were gonna put down it next.
This dorm is known for housing lots of party animals, so it’s always fun to see what’s going on in the halls.
Then came home and put a 12lb pork butt in the smoker, that has been brining in mango/pineapple juice since yesterday, with garlic powder and paprika.

I've noticed the last couple of days that when I get done driving, and open the door the lock mechanism will cycle like its unlocking.

Say you've got your keys in the ignition, and you try to lock the door. My doors will lock, and then unlock to prevent me from locking myself out.

Its basically doing this, but without me locking the doors, and only after parking.

Any thoughts? Wondering if something is loose in the lock mechanism on either door.

Finally got around to shipping some things out this week and one of the items was the TRD exhaust tip that came on my OEM Muffler purchased back in March that I was giving away and offered up free + shipping here. @CodyP was interested but he has turned it down yesterday. Think I’ll keep it now. What do these things do other than looks?

This year is gonna be an interesting one, the kids don’t give a crap about the Rona, they just want to get away from mom and dad and party. And since a lot of them didn’t get a senior year ending, it’s a lil scandalous to say the least around campus.

Doesn’t look like you received a response from anyone, but IIRC didn’t you have or still have the original OEM Battery on your truck? That thing belongs in the museum. I’d say just go with a good regular battery with the cold crank powers needed for up north. 13 years is a long time for a battery. I go through them every 3 years.

Man I miss those adventures. I had a similar one once, late night call that dispatch thought was a mainline. Single mom wearing an Angels jersey as pajamas :D then she opened the door and I saw her sister in law was there

Turned out the chain on the toilet popped off the arm. I clipped it back on and everything was fine. We talked for a bit and I decided not to charge her for the trip. She took my number and later sent me side jobs and pretty good Angels tickets, turned out she worked for them.

I’m sure you’ve got some other good ones too. I don’t have a ton, especially at this job because it’s a bunch of pip squeaks, some of the well mannered ones offer bottles of water which I find super nice, but never accept.
Probably one of the best/most PG ones so far was at that same building, every Monday or Tuesday night, this weird old man, haha I have no idea if he’s a professor or what he does, but he has a name tag and apparently that’s enough; he makes like 10 trays of s’mores and takes them to all the study rooms and gives them out to all the nice boys and girls. Well I happened to be there one of those days for a easy breaker tripped call. I got down!
