Truck still hasnt arrived from the port

So my truck still hasn't arrived from the port. It has been almost 2 weeks. The carrier has been giving excuses. Yesterday they told the dealer that it physically left and will be here between 7pm and midnight. 24 hours later, still no arrival. Now the dealer has contact Toyota manufacturing, a regional district manager, and port management. Unbelievable!

 

Have you tried Googling the tracking number?

I would second this motion.... Probably taken by a customer by mistake, or resold your truck to someone else. I have heard of delivery trucks also playing games, but hopefully it gets resolved soon.

 

The port said that the truck was there in Miami.

 

It has all of the sold info stickers on it. SE Toyota shows it as sold as well.

 

My brother's 2020 Corvette sat in Montana for 2 weeks waiting to be delivered here in Idaho. I guess they wait till a full load before they go to the destination. Anyway, he said fuck it and drove to Montana, loaded it in a trailer, and dropped it off at the dealership to do the PDI. Picked it up there next day. The dealer got him in contact with the place in Montana and gave him the thumbs up about doing it.

 

Ah, man, after you've worked so hard for this truck, I hope the dealer's guy didn't drive it off the transport's unloading ramps, and now they're hiding it from you until they can fix the damage.

Mmmmm...Nah...Just kidding...I'm sure that would never happen.

His truck is in safe storage somewhere awaiting PDI and detail. Priorities are different for dealers and transporters once they get the sale and their money is guaranteed. To them, it's just a product; not a love affair. Their motto: "(1) Don't sweat the small stuff, and (2) It's ALL small stuff."

When companies miss promised delivery dates, they lie. I had a driver stop en-route at a girlfriend's house for several days, while I frantically called the transporter about a piece of equipment that I needed urgently. But, that was before GPS location.

 

Of course, the several days delayed delivery COULD be a deliberate strategy by the dealer!

Once @Tundra234 does lay eyes on his new Barcelona Red beauty, and discovers it's whole and safe, he'll be less likely nit-pick the small stuff like fit and finish.

 

Hopefully it will be there this weekend or Monday morning.

So after raising hell with the GM, the district manager was contacted last week. Still no update until today. I raised hell again this morning and said someone needs to get an answer. I just got a call and the district manager was able to get in touch with someone at the port. Someone put a hold on it with a work order to repair a scratch. The port looked at it and found no defects so they closed the ticket and are expediting shipment since the truck is sold. It will be here late tonight or tomm. GSM is looking to possibly upgrade me to leather seating for compensation.

 

If you get the leather then it was worth the wait. (If you care about leather) I’m a fan of leather because I have kids so it takes more abuse and sweat and sour sauce is easier to clean up. Congrats on the truck my man can’t wait to see the pics.

If you can get the leather, do it. for some reason Toyotas in general have a fabric that retains stains like no other vehicle I have ever seen. Our Rav4 and Tundra and 4runner before them just seemed to attract staining. I am on week 7 of waiting for my clazzios and cannot wait to get them installed. After my rear axle failure at 500 miles they offered me a remote start......I politely declined because shit does happen and didn't want to go scorched earth, but if they would offer again there is no chance I would turn them down.

 

Yeah maybe ill get lucky and they will hook me up with it. You get the young lady to catch any fish yet or is she still just holding them...lol.

Waiting like you have is not unusual. I ordered mine in mid-March planning to take delivery in early April. It was late May before I took delivery. But of course it was the height of Covid season so they had a really good excuse!

I remember back in the day, waiting in front of the saloon for the stagecoach to arrive, only to find out my mail order bride had died of old age.
