Does anyone have instructions for installing Coachbuilder front shims on a 2017 pro?

I think they could be a good Saturday project

There's no difference from the '15 or '16 Pro. There's also plenty of write ups. Have you tried doing a search?

Helps to have a helper and helps if you have a lift. If you have both you can be done in an hour. Take it straight to get alignment done.

I tried to find links too, no luck. The link above seems to have good information. I'm sure that info is on here, maybe someday else will chime in

I am by no means a pro at this. In say that I believe the coilover has to come out. Once out the shims are placed on top of the coilover as pictured below...then just reinstalled. I believe the shims themselves have little notches or grooves in one side of them. they line up facing outward from the truck.

Hope this helps...and someone please correct me if I am wrong.

@Newm they didn't come with instructions on how to line them up?

either way, I do think the grooves line up facing forward from the frame. Not 100% sure though.

You have to take them off and put the shims on top of the coilovers then fasten them back on. Here's a link I followed the first time I put my spacers on. Fairly easy but time consuming and definitely get a buddy to help you. (It's for a spacer lift but process is exactly the same)

I got mine in without removing the whole assembly. After disconnecting stuff I pried down with a bar and my bud slipped em in. Mine didn't have any notches that I saw either. We had it on the lift though. I got permission from our shop boss to use the one at work on a Saturday.

David must have started adding the notches since I bought mine. They definitely did not have that notch. It would have been handy though! I did mine in 2015.

Yeah, the notches stick out. See where on step 1 it says the key way faces out towards the wheel.

Any chance you can post a pic of the instructions? I have the shims but don't remember getting them.

Remove the top nuts, remove the lower control arm bolt, remove the clips holding the brake line so it doesn't get stretched or torn, remove the sway bar nut and pop er loose. Pry down and slip the shims in, over the bolts. Make sure you know how they orient directionally and top side, cause you can only get em in one way.

I tried to do these alone but couldn't do it. I had help and a lift.

Let us know how it goes
