My local dealer has made me what looks like a pretty good trade deal for my ‘11 on a 2020 1794 cm 4x4. I was going to wait for an army green 2021 but If the deal works out I’d be in this for not much more than I planned to spend on a 21’ sr5/trd package.

I’m more of an sr5/cloth kinda guy but the seat cooler is hard to ignore.. my question is are any of you having any issues with sensors and electronics in these? I’m a little scared of a truck that smart, I just need it to be reliable and while the extra features are cool I feel like it’s just more stuff to break. Am I concerned over nothing or is there reason to be wary? Thanks!

I have a 2020 1794 and only have 1200 miles but it has been great. Can’t beat that interior :). It sounds like you would be getting a “smart” 2021 anyway. I would take a deal on a truck that is exactly the same as the model year 2021. What color you going with?

I have a 2019 1794 and I can barely tell my seat coolers are on. However the heated seat gets nice and hot no issues there. No issues at all wit this truck and I just towed a camper 3000 miles round trip from Texas through the Tennessee mountains. This truck is tough!

What does the pretty good deal look like if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks guys. My 11 is the spruce mica green(what’s left of it anyway) and the 1794 is silver sky.
Hartsy, it’s nothing crazy. We’re at 4,500 off msrp and a healthy over value on my trade.

my 11 has been flawless but it’s basic sr5/trd package. When I shut the 1794 off and the steering wheel moved by itself it just reminded me how much I fear extra electronics. I like my toys but I need my truck reliable every day.

That feature can be turned off using TechStream. That's one of the first things I did when I got my 2017 Platinum.

Raidercat, I agree the cooler isn’t very strong at all but I’m in south Fl and sometimes even a little breeze would be awesome. I do usually put marathon covers on my trucks which would negate the cooler so I’d have to learn to keep up with the leather and hope my dog doesn’t screw it up unless they make vented seat covers now.

thanks. I think it’s cool that it does it just concerned about the longevity of all those extra features, sensors, etc. the sunroof would be a first for me in a truck too, Just trying to wrap my head around the Maintenence of all that Jazz.
    I’m freakin out man!

Sounds like a great deal! Don’t let the electronics scare you off. It’s okay to have some creature comforts! Doesn’t take away from the reliability of the truck. Hell thats the reason I got the 1794 because the interior has all of those features. I didn’t want to pay to put all of that nice stuff in after the fact. Much easier to upgrade exterior. Interior, not so much.

If it makes you feel any better I still have a 2001 Lexus lx 470 (100 series land cruiser) with 250k miles on it and it has all of the electric features still working strong almost 20 years later. And it gets HEAVY use off road and camping

Thanks It is pretty slick inside for sure. I work, hunt and fish out of my trucks quite a bit so I usually get the mid grade packages and seat covers so I don’t have to worry about it So much but if I can justify the price it looks like that may change.
My tundra still works great just needs paint, mystery oil leak fixed, cv axle and I think my front diff actuator is on the way out but it’s been a damn fine truck for the last 8 years.

do you need to condition the leather a lot? I haven’t had it in years and as hot as it’s getting I’m assuming I’d need to condition it a lot to keep it from cracking? When we get back from fishing we’re usually pretty salty, I’m sure that won’t help it either.

If you are salty then maybe? On the leather seats I have now they are just starting to show wear and cracking at the 20 year mark and I never touched them with anything

Well it looks like they just met my “I don’t need this much truck” demands so I guess I’ll be signing some forms today. They must’ve really wanted to sell that pig, they took 5500 off and are giving me 50% more on my trade than anyone else offered and probably exactly what the street value is. That’ll officially be the fanciest rig I’ve ever owned.

Congrats and enjoy the new ride for a long time! I picked up my platinum in July while my local dealer was still offering about $3,500 off plus the $2,500 Toyota rebate. They are pretty much selling at sticker price now...

Congrats on the truck! I'm about 6 months into owning my 2020 1794, and I sure did get adjusted quickly to all the comforts! Like you, I am somewhat concerned about all the stuff that could potentially go wrong, but that stuff is in ALL the vehicles made these days.

Toyota is the cream of the crop when it comes to reliability. When I parted with my '00 tundra after 20 years, it still had some original lightbulbs in a lot of locations. Never a problem with power windows, or locks or seats or anything else electrical in nature. I take comfort in that!

Congrats!!’ Sounds like you got a great deal on the truck. I bought mine in the height of the pandemic and paid pretty much sticker but jumped on the 2500 dollar rebate. It was the truck I wanted and life is short! I am happy with it.

Hello, I have a 2020 1794 Edition CrewMax and love it. Not a single issue so far. Love all the tech. Only disappointment is the JBL “Premium” stereo.

Thanks guys actually just got it home, it is pretty freakin cool but I do have to agree that the stereo is pretty terrible. That will definitely need some help. I gave my old truck a hug in the parking lot and still feel odd without it but I’m feeling pretty good about this one!
It’s almost too nice where I’m scared to touch anything but I’m sure I’ll overcome that soon enough. I’ll definitely cringe the first time my dog gets in it though. He rides with when I drop the kids at school in the mornings so I have a decision to make tomorrow. He gets pretty pissed when I leave him home for that trip.

If he misses a school drop off or a boat ride he won’t even look at me when I get home. I work out of my truck too so it’ll take some adjusting to keep it clean. We always buy sr5’s and put marathon seat covers on them to keep them cleaner but Those seats are awful pretty to cover up.

Out of curiousity does the front bumper center cover match your paint on your 1794’s? It could be normal but it looks like they put a mgm panel in mine instead of Ssm by mistake?
Also wow does the stereo suck in this thing, like beyond suck. I pulled all my amps/speakers and pets from my last truck before trading it but was hoping this one would be good enough as is but nope..

My 2017 1794 has the same center bumper color as yours and my truck is blue. Congrats on the truck, looks nice.
