Dumb question, how do you get the plastic shroud off? I found acorns in my blower motor and wanted to get to the intake to make sure it was clear, but couldn't figure out how to get it off .

I thought it was the opposite where engine pings on cheap gas. I'll stick to 91 since I only go to Chevron (nearest gas station by my house) and we shop at Safeway a lot also and get gas rewards.

    Ha! Oh, that tiny thing.

I was talking about this part.
    Is it painted or wrap?

If you send @Roman a PM with your trucks info he can get you what you need. They do not come painted, I had a local paint shop color match mine.

Ordered the end caps, then sent them to a local paint shop as they do not come painted from Toyota.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Use a 14mm socket on wiper arms, two phillips-head twist-lock plastic screws on far ends, and press-clips that pop out with a screwdriver on the firewall lip...everything comes out easy then. Took about 10 min to figure the disassembly out...

Not going to single anyone out here... but I've got to say it...

Good lord some of you guys need to find a hobby before you paint every single nut, bolt, washer, screw and clip on your trucks.

Ever hear of the term "less is more"???

Some of the trucks in this thread are such an embarrassment to the brand.

It reminds me of that teenage girl who just can't plaster enough makeup on her face or spray enough sickening perfume on herself.

The truck carries itself well as it is... It doesn't need all that gaudy crap cluttered on and it just looks like a busy, disgusting, over-done mess.

Sorry, but a dolled up truck doesn’t hold a candle of ‘god awful’ to a perfume trail.

Anywho, different strokes for different folks.

While I will probably never do most of the mods I see on this site, and personally find some of them kind of silly, I do enjoy reading about them and seeing them. I agree that all stock looks great as is but I am also impressed with what some have done to convert their trucks almost into show trucks. I'm GLAD we're all different!

Quit being a stick in the mud and let people enjoy their truck the way they want. Less is more is boring.

I clarified your post for any passersby.

Nothing wrong with personalizing a vehicle to your own tastes. You don't have to like it as long as they do. They're not trying to sell it to you or anything. They are just sharing their journeys with the community. Not everybody wants a plain truck with black wheels, and that's ok. There is nothing wrong with either approach, so long as the owner is happy with it.

Try to not let other peoples decisions that don't affect you bring you down. You might live longer, and be more pleasant.

Well, thanks for your unsolicited opinion. I'm always impressed by the audacity of those who feel the need to pass judgement. I noticed that your Tundra is hardly stock, so it appears that even you like to make modifications that are not necessarily functional.

"Started with a 3/1 Reaylift spacer kit and added 2" longer shackles to make it 3/3.
    Rides like stock.
To be fair... the kit included diff drop spacers, sway bar spacers and skid plate spacers.
Ive since installed carrier bearing spacers and 2" rear shock extensions.
I still have upper A-arms to install that will provide better caster numbers... but for now the alignment tech got it driving pretty nice without them.

I understand some guys like to spend alot more money to feel better... but for what im doing... the spacer kit works and functions just fine."

    What an asinine statement.
Doing stuff to their trucks is their hobby.

    Damn, bro!

Imagine if you did stuff to your truck you liked and others did stuff to their truck they like.
I think they call it, customizing and there’s a billion dollar industry behind it.

Like they say, opinions are like assholes...

It doesn’t mean you have to be one.

    Ha!
Busting on other people’s ideas while adding a spacer lift.

@Dragracer_Art spend your money the way you want and others will do the same.

If you don’t like someone’s mod, then don’t do it to yours.

Are they covers that go over the existing bumper or replacements (meaning you took the chrome ones off and replaced them with the new ones)?

So, you call people snowflakes while whining about others peoples stuff.
    Seems just about right.

Look at how original you are in your black truck, with black wheels, with a spacer lift.

    How original.

You’re on a message board about customizing your truck, bitching about people customizing their trucks.

It’s best to let others think you’re a fool rather than removing all doubt.

For the record, being courteous doesn't make you a snowflake. It just means you are considerate.

It's fine to have your opinion, but putting it in a thread where people share their newest mods is calling them out. The "not singling anyone out" comment is a cop out to try and avoid taking responsibility for calling them out. Especially when you do it in a derogatory and dick-ish way. Pretty sure your intent is to step on toes because you wouldn't do the mods they are doing. It's just a shitty way to be.

I wouldn't do a lot of the customization mods that others are doing to theirs, but I can appreciate the effort and skill of it. Just because I wouldn't do it doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. I'll even single people out for it, because I actually have a spine. @ElNopal Matt, I would never do the heavy cavalry color match that you've done. I like the stock look a lot, but I can say that your skill and vision are impressive. I would never have thought to do the blue seats you have, but I honestly think I might after seeing it in your truck. I'd just have to hire out the install. You do great work, and your truck is one of a kind. Well done.

See, @Dragracer_Art , you can express an opinion about not considering people's mods and the fact that you would never do it to yours without being a douche.

The fact that I am saying this is nuts, because I'm an asshole who doesn't care what other's think. I just happen to know how to be civil and considerate.
