I wanted to share my experience installing the FAS1-TL in my 2017 Tundra CrewMax Limited for my Glock 17 w/ +2 mag, light, and Holosun red dot.

First of all, the reason I chose this safe was its superior construction and thick 7GA walls. Secondly, it leaves room for console organization. It holds your "valuables" safely and is made in the USA.

I originally had the Vehicle OCD organizers. Found here and with some modification was able to still utilize them after install.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KI3P26K/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SSKUHAC/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The safe is installed into the stock bolt holes for the center console using 3" M6-1.0 and some washers.

Downsides: 1) it opens to the front so flagging a passenger is a possibility, though this is only used when I am forced to leave my valuables in the car - otherwise they're on my person. 2) The M6 bolts aren't as big and tough as I'd like, but someone would have to come really prepared to get this out.

FYI - if you run a compact or sub-compact, the FAS1-Compact is a bit shorter and opens 90 degrees allowing a right handed draw.

It is! Like I said, this is only for storage if I'm forced to be without it. While I'm driving its IWB. This is not for "drawing".

I like the installation of the safe. I'm going to get one.

So does this cover up the 12V plug in the console?

No, the 12v plug is not covered. There’s an opening that allows access

How's that lock holding up? I LOVE the style and gauge of the steel for this safe, but am wary of this lock, or the electronic combo. Thanks for any update.

It seems to be pretty bulletproof. Still operating like it did when new.

Awesome! 2-3 years later, that's one heck of an endorsement. Still happy with safe? Trying to decide between Lockerdown and Console Vault. I believe we get what we pay for, just wondering if $100 difference is worth it?

Actually I think I got it in 2015. Lockerdown was the first to make them and I would say they could be the best. I don’t know for sure, since there’s now several others available. I do like knowing it’s made in America by Americans.
The best thing is it’s big enough for my pistola, mini-iPad, binoculars, wallet, wireless winch controller, and the wifes purse. Great if you are leaving the truck at a garage or going for a little walk.

I have the same safe with the electronic lock. No issues at all. The battery slides in from the back so it's easy to get to.

I think LockerDown is thicker steel and also the door is reinforced with a 2nd plate on the Extreme models. I have the Extreme in my 2020.
