Trying to figure out some electrical issues and found this under the dash. Any idea what it is?

Looks like an Antenna of some kind. Maybe a cell phone range booster? Can you see where the wiring goes?

Ding. This is what it is. However, it doesn’t work so I want to remove it but it’s wired into the main harness and I don’t want to make matters worse. My lock/unlock stopped working. Think I am just taking it to a shop and let them sort it out and put in a functional remote start. Thanks for all the replies - if anything I got a couple of laughs and the answer

Careful messing with it. Does it say Cyberdyne Systems on it? It probably doesn't as Skynet is trying to keep a low profile. Trying to remove it could make it self aware and retaliate against your actions.

So, after removing and installing a new remote starter, and also removing a tracking device that was obviously installed by the previous owner, now my D/S headlight isn’t functioning properly. When in auto mode or off, only the P/S light comes on. When I manually turn the lights to on they both come on but the D/S is dimmer than the P/S. @xrunnerdude67 do you have any suggestions as to what may be wrong? I replaced the 10A fuses in the add a fuse hoping that was the issue with no results. Anybody else know what could possibly be wrong?

So I have determined it is a short but I cannot determine if it’s the harness or the headlight. When I wiggle the wiring the light goes on and off. Any assistance on how to determine which end the short is (light or wiring)?

Never mind. There is a ghost in the machine. I pulled the lights and the harness all out, plugged it all back in and voila, they work as designed. Now I have a cool feature where the LED’s come on when I unlock the door (very Audi-esque). And before I could never turn the LED’s off even in the off position and now they work as designed. Not sure what the problem was, but I assume something wasn’t seated properly. Anyhow - that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

The Carfax was registered to one owner before me. Was told could have been used for insurance discounts. IDK but that was some weight savings removing all of that stuff. It looked like a nightmare under the dash and now it’s all cleaned up.
