Sounds like I should get myself on the waitlist and keep my fingers crossed for better luck this time with Inferno:fingerscrossed:

Are you thinking you're going to do grille too when that comes out?

I pulled the trigger last summer on the TRD pro grille and bulge, so it would just be wishful thinking for the front covers... I understand 100% that having other Inferno parts to paint would help the old balance sheet, so here’s to hoping some of my Inferno brethren want in

It did chip off the chrome. I will do an acid etching next time to give the primer a better bond. I broke down an bought a 2020 TRD Pro grill.

Thank you for this, you probably just saved me a ton of work. Sounds like its probably best to wait and see what comes of these surround caps first then or go down the same road as you for the pro grill.

Gloss white is cheap than the oem super white.
How’s it match of original super paint?
Hard to tell in the picture.

I ordered the gloss white since I could not wait for the super white. If you own the truck, you'll notice it, but others can't tell the difference. In time, I do not even pay that much attentions to it anymore. I have no regrets what so ever.

Now, if you stare at your truck long enough, you'll see that the cab is not the same tint as the door and differs ever slightly with the bed. ;-) That haunted me for a long time, but now I'm over it.

Progress on Grille Surround and Hood Bulge!

Male mold poured and pulled. Next step is sanding and checking dimensions against OEM.

It moving along fast! The next steps are the most time consuming though. It's a lot of sanding and re-layering to get the dimensions and surface quality perfect, and that's all before we can make our first prototype. I'm so excited for these though. The installation should be a breeze, and because of new manufacturing process we've created, they should be way cheaper than anything else out there right now.

We're just waiting on the final duct work for our paint booth and then we'll be up and running. We have a large list of people who are on the wait-list, so i would try and sign up on that as soon as possible because we're going to work through that list before we open sales back up to everyone.

We had emailed way back near the beginning of the year and you were supposed to put me on the list. Can you confirm I’m still on there, hopefully near the top?

I was quoted $537 to have mine color matched barcelona red through a local body shop. Does that price seem about right? (front & Rear) Without install I might add.

    They look great!

How have they held up for your 1y+ use of them?

My only hesitation is access to the foglights from the front. Right now being stock, they pop out and off easily, bulb swaps, housing swaps etc. If Toyota had made the end caps easily removeable, I'd remove and paint/bed line etc.

I’ve had zero issues so far! I had to take them off once, (can’t remember why) and with some new 3m mounting tape they went right back on with no problem. They are still in great shape cosmetically too.

Is that a quote to paint our parts, or to have your OEM chrome caps painted? If that's our parts, it probably about average for local body shops. Reds are also typically more expensive colors to paint. We can only paint it cheaper because we have volume on our side, but the main downside with us right now is the wait. Overall, I don't think you're getting ripped off there. That sounds pretty good to me. I got quoted over $1000 for front and rear OEM chrome caps to get painted.

Exactly! That's a big reason why we're doing it. You really get into the weeds with warranty issues if you try to swap grilles and this gets around that.
